“Wonderful trip”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

My wife and I last weekend enjoyed a much needed three day getaway at Peek n Peak resort and I have to say I am more than pleased with the excellent accommodations and ammenties of the resort. Room was very clean and quite unlike other western PA resorts I've stayed at. Food was excellent and while we had reservations there were no waiting lines that I saw for seating. Not much of a mountain and more of a hill, but great place for a new snowboarder to get accustomed to the sport. Loads of families with children, seems like a great place to introduce my kids to snow sports when the time comes. We will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: Get the sunday brunch package , good deal in my opinion.

The staff and accommodations were excellent. This is a great place to bring younger children and let them ski and have fun. Great value. Only downside is the hill is fairly simple. No great challenge for those skiers that like thrills. The free s'mores that came with our stay and ski package were a huge hit with the kids.

The hills and lessons are great for kids. But the service is terrible. We had to leave breakfast so we would not miss the kids lessons. Service stinks food stinks and you have no choice if you stay. The kids lessons needs to be better organized. They should let you register on line.

Our family of 4, kids ages 12 & 10, spent the weekend of Jan. 3-5 at Peek'n Peak for the first time. A bit reluctant as we usually ski at Holiday Valley which is about 2 hours further, we chose Peek'n Peak which was just a 4 hour trip from home.
We were quite surprised just how nice the Inn and ski resort was. There is nothing this close (within 4 hrs.) of NW Ohio that can compare to the quality of skiing and number of runs available. With 27 ski runs and 8 chairlifts even on the weekend we never waited in much of a lift line at any time. The kids especially loved the variety of ski slopes and size compared to what we are used to in Ohio.
Our 2 nights at the Inn at Peek'n Peak were without any issues. We stayed in a 2 queen loft with fireplace. There is just a couch in the sitting area so for a family of 4 its kind of close quarters if all wish to watch TV together. Both the loft and living area have TV's so it was never much of a issue. Plenty of space for boots/bags under the staircase and the loft rooms have a small balcony to put skis/boards at night. As mentioned by others the upgrade appears to be complete and everything is new and in pretty condition considering the abuse they take with ski boots, snow boards, and skis in and out of the rooms. From the Inn the Sugar Shack lift was maybe 100 yards away so ski in/ski out was very convenient.
Our only disappointment was the dining options and food quality. We ate one night in the pub and the next night at the Sugar Shack. Both places we experienced below average service and maybe not the "wow" this is a great meal feeling. Must admit we like and are willing to pay for a good meal so we are a bit picky. These were both just typical ski lodge offerings and nothing more. We did have carryout breakfast from the cafe/coffee shop and it was quite good, our best meal by far. I would think with all the upgrades and improvements at least some effort would have been put into dining offerings and bringing it up to the higher standards like the rest of the resort.
That being said our family agreed that we will be back, a few times a season for sure. The short trip, great value, along with pretty darn good skiing, Peek'n Peak is well worth it.

This year we decided spend our holiday vacation at Peek 'n Peak and I'm so glad we did. Not only did we have an amazing snow storm the day we arrived, we had fresh snow throughout our whole visit. This resort has all the amenities anyone could want in a winter getaway. We ski'd, swam, jumped in the outdoor hot tub, enjoyed the sauna, had dinner in the main lodge dining room, and stayed in a condo at the top of the mountain. The staff was fantastic and made our vacation so pleasant; from the ski instructors to the wait staff, we couldn't have been more pleased with everyone's helpful attitude. The slopes were great and not too crowded. Playing in the snow has never been so much fun. The resort was built in the 60's and still has that same old feel to it, making it an awesome experience away from the typical resort type vacation spots. We stayed in a condo at the top of the mountain and they provided a shuttle service that was very efficient and effective for getting to the from the lodge. No driving necessary all weekend.

We have spent the last 2 March Breaks here and plan to do so again in 2014. Being from Ontario, nothing within 3 hours even comes close to the quality of skiing, conditions and VALUE. If it wasnt for the great March break packages for us, we wouldnt be able to ski. The resort has made amazing changes. Kids love the skiing, pool and indoor playground, Mom loves the spa, Dad loves the food and pub. This place had it all... even tubing which we have never done.
We love coming skiing here. Our kids feel at home and are treated GREAT. Congrats to the new owners, well done. Please keep those March Break prices affordable for us Canadians!!

Room Tip: If skiing, get a ground level for easy ski in ski out. 2nd floor is a pain.

This was our first time here and we had a great weekend. We did a 2 night stay right after Christmas. The kids went snowboarding and the husband and I hung out and enjoyed ourselves. We booked a double queen room and it was plenty big for the four of us. Microwave and fridge were a nice touch in the rooms. The Regency Pub was great. Food was excellent, staff was friendly and there were live bands each night we were there. As you walked around there were outdoor fires going on and the Inn had a warm, friendly feeling at all time. The pool area was huge, the water was warm and the kids had fun. The only downside to our stay was the heat in the rooms...it never seemed to turn off and the rooms got hot. Also, I feel they could invest in some luggage carts. Parking is close but with skis, snowboards and luggage, a cart would have been helpful. All in all we will definitely be back to Peek -n - Peak for another enjoyable weekend!
