My husband, 17 year-old son, and I spent MLK week-end at PeeknPeak. First good powder of the ski season. The Inn is old English in appearance, all gables and mullioned windows. In snow it is magical. We were able to check in early. We booked a parlor suite -main bldg. near everything but quiet with rare exception. Bldgs are low rise. Rooms are large. All is dated, but quite clean and comfortable, including the beds. No particlular place to put ski equipment. Must rent a locker or haul back and forth to slope. Though a brief walkdown the hall and out the door 30 yards and you are on the bottom of the slope just at the lift. So many pleasing things here: very good food. Consistently so. Sunday brunch was a feast for eyes and palate, esp. waffles bananas foster! The spa is new and beautiful. A 50 minute swedish massage was well-done. The pool, sauna, hot tub area is wonderful. The in-door/outdoor hot tub was large and absolute zen in the quiet of the morning as well as apres ski with a cocktail delivered poolside. Staff is pleasant and accomodating. We could get to everything easily, no long walks. Only small downsides were not being able to get lift tickets at front desk, and perhaps the older, sligntly musty guest rooms and corridors, but we accept this as is and will look forward to upgrades. Overall great value for our family. We will return with go snow.

A neat spot that looks like an old castle. Lots of heavy wood and stone. The room and fixtures were a little outdated; but, we knew that from other reviews and still wanted to visit. The ski hills are not challenging at all but were in good shape and well groomed. We received 22 inches of snow in less than 30 hours so the conditions were fantastic. The restaurant food in the resort was excellent as was Pizzialos. The food on the hill at the ski lodge was awful (pack your own lunch). The kids loved the pool and hot-tub (indoor / outdoor ... very cool). The drive to the resort from the Niagara Falls border crossing was about 2 hours and very easy - Clymer is only 15 or 20 minutes south of the I90.

Our golfing group went to Peek'nPeek for 5 days. Let me start by saying our condo on the upper course was amazing. It accomodated the 4 of us very comfortably and was situated on a really nioce section of the resort with a great view. We started off on the lower course and were not immediatley impressed with it. This was compounded by playing the upper course later that day. The upper course is much nicer. I will say though that the lower course can and does grow on you alittle bit each day ! We had a meal plan for our stay and the food was very good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Because we golfed 36 holes a day we didn't have much time or energy to explore much more that the dining room so I cant really comment on any nightlife. We did travel to a bar one night though, as it had the liquor store behind it. I cant remember the name right now but I do remember the wings were excellent!! All in all we thought the resort , for golf anyway, was just okay. The appealing part for us, being from Toronto , was the relatively short and easy drive (about 3 hrs.) Would we go back? Well as golfers looking to play a variety of different courses and with so many options out there....probably not.

Peak n Peak is in major needs of rennovation. I'm writing this review from our room, which we only purchased because we got a deal of a package through an online auction. I've always heard good things...but only from poeple who came here to golf and rented one of the homes in the area for a week.

"the inn" which is the main area smells musty, a little smokie, and the hallways have the strong smell of Febreez Tropical spray. I think it's someone's job to walk down the hall every 2 hours and spray.

The pool facilites are great, the spa is the only thing updated.

Bottom line: way overpriced for the features you get. I have a feeling if they don't update the main building rooms VERY soon they'll be closing in 5 years like many other resorts that didn't put an importance on updating...at least replace the A/C unit from the 80s.

Room Tip: Don't stay "at the inn" stay at one of thier new condo/home properties.

Even the relatively low rate we paid for our room in the main lodge/hotel was too much. Our room smelled musty and old, the air conditioner looked like it was from the 1950s (as did the rest of the room), the decor was outdated, and there were giant cobwebs in the corner of our room. There was no view (just of the back of the lower part of the lodge), and the room was difficult to find and to get to (up a few flights of stairs and down a long hallway). The whole room was disappointing. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The positives were that the concierge was very nice, the pillows were comfortable and the shower pressure was very good for a hotel. Obviously, this is one of the only hotels in the area, but I would rather venture much further away than to stay here again.

Room Tip: If you must stay here, ask for a room on the first floor so you avoid an extra flight of stairs, if...

I'm not a golfer and skiing in the summertime rarely ends well, so Peak-n-Peek was not my first choice for a family vacation destination. Always open-minded, however, we gave it a shot and it proved to be a wonderful summer escape. Now, as a disclaimer, we didn't didn't STAY at the inn in the resort. We stayed at a townhouse/condo rental that is run by the resort, up the hill from the inn. I think my review could be of value because we had full access to, and got plenty of use from, the gorgeous resort property. This included the pools, hot tubs, playgrounds, restaurants, spa, hiking trails and mini-golf. That said, the pools were invaluable for a large, extended family such as ours, with whole bunches of kids running around. We spent most of our time there. When we had enough sun (rarely) we could go inside the temp-controlled indoor pool area and the kids could keep swimming. The hot tub is split outdoor/indoor, with a swim-through opening. A nice touch to the pool is the cabana bar that keeps the (fairly priced and well-made) drinks flowing throughout the day. The outdoor playground isn't bad, but the real fun is inside at the "PlayZone". The resort converted its indoor tennis courts into a giant, padded-floor play area complete with playground equipment, ping-pong, games, etc. Again, perfect for kids as its a well maintained, safe and contained space for them to burn off some energy. Each occasion we dined at the restaurant/bar was splendid. The food was above average and fairly priced. The service was genuine and gracious. On the weekend evenings, the bar featured live music from local talent that was a welcome treat. My wife and I enjoyed an afternoon at the spa for a couples massage and, though a bit pricey, it was still a very nice setup. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. I think our 5 days there was about the max I would recommend as the kids had really run their course with the all the resort had to offer. There are some sights worth noting within range of the resort (Chautauqua Institute, Bemis Pointe, Presque Isle Downs) but none of them are truly suited for kids. I got the sense from speaking with the Concierge, that the best kid-focused activities were only really at the resort. All in all, our trip was relaxing and care-free. The staff at Peak-n-Peek really bent over backwards to keep you comfortable and happy.

We had never been to Peak ' Peek although everyone has heard of it, always thought it was far away for some reason. We went to the Chautauqua Lake region for one night and thought it was rather boring. We found out PnP was just 20 minutes away so that's where we ended up.

What a lovely place! The exterior is awesome, the grounds immaculate, not a weed to be found. Our room was very nice and the bed gave a great night's sleep. Could it use some updating? Yes. But then it would become like Oglebay in West Virginia, unaffordable!!!!

We loved every minute and can't wait to return, hopefully even this month, August. The dining room in the main lodge is sooooo wonderful. We told our waiter we just wanted to relax and he never rushed us. The food was superb, the lower lighting and tablecloths made for a superb dining experience.

And yes, the Findley Lake region, let's just say you will fall in love with!!!

5 stars to Peak 'n Peek for a lovely experience!
