Finally made it to Matt's cape house.Cannot say enough good things about the quality, service, cleanliness and best of all probably some of the best whole belly clams ever anywhere(maybe Bobs clam shack compares)can't wait to go back for more clams or to try something else from great menu.It is veteran owned and his staff is well trained maybe they are family as well.Just great!

“Good Seafood in casual setting”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

A hidden gem in Halfmoon, NY. More than the NY fish fry house. Order at the counter, then the server does the rest. Fried and baked but really fresh and delicious seafood. Open only till 8pm Mon-Sat so if heading back from Saratoga Racing make it your stop -- we had lunch, it was relaxed and casual. Prices were good for the portions received.

“Hit or miss”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

My lady and I have been to Matts every Saturday for over a year and in our early visits found the Haddock dinners superb at a reasonable price. However late in 2013 and early 2014 we have been duped and served cod as a substitute needless to say we where less than happy with this lesser oily translucent fish. At first we where told that it was Haddock and they came out with the same cod fillet and tried to pass it off to us I can only imagine the people that don't know the difference between the 4 dollar a pound cod and 9 dollar Haddock. after spending $30 dollars for the two of us every week and getting cod I believe they need to regroup fast or this place will close soon I must say we do enjoy the friendly staff that work there.

“We love it here”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

unfortunately our last visit was a disappointment. We went in the evening and they were out of whole belly clams, oysters and whole lobsters. we opted for the lobster mac and cheese. It was overdone and not very flavorful but the owner came over and talked with us. He explained they were short handed and had been very busy all day. he gave us a gift card to return and we will. Our other visits have been very good so we will be happy to give it another chance.

“Absolutely great again”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

My friend and I had a great seafood meal here. We both had a dozen steamers (done to perfection, no sand) and seafood platters. I asked for a substitution and they gladly obliged. The fried oysters were especially good. The place was very busy, as it deserves to be and service was still excellent. Can't tell you what a great place this is, and very reasonable.
