“Excellent new eatery for apres ski or any other night”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

On our second visit, we had a table of six, after a glorious day of skiing. The Bull House is a wonderful reincarnation of the old Ice Cream Parlor in Chestertown. Service is prompt, smart, friendly. The grilled caesar salad was a hit, as were all of our entrees including succulent pork shanks over sweet mash, white chicken cannelloni chili, spilled steak salad, steaks. The presentation and quality were top notch, confirming The Bull House as a go to place in the ADKs. Lets hope they gain the traction they need to grow and prosper.

Excellent job, Bull House staff, best of luck

“Hesitant to return”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Took our son here as he had to work and missed Christmas dinner. Was looking forward to a special evening. Took the waitress 15 minutes to acknowledge our presence and take our drink and appetizer order. There were 5 other tables filled and another waitress to help wait on them. We ordered corn soup and a salad. Drinks came in 10 minutes but it was close to 30 minutes before we got our appetizers. How long can it take to ladle the soup out of a pot and put dressing on a salad? She came over right before we got our appetizers to ask us if we wanted more drinks. I said no just our appetizers and then she offered to bring their chips and home-made salsa. When she delivered the chips she said they were out of salsa and said she could give us sour cream. Really! I would have run down to Tops and had some jars of salsa on hand. Would have been better than sour cream. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our meals which were disappointing at best. Fish was so heavily breaded I had to cut it with a knife and was served with no tartar sauce. The steak in the usually good steak salad was overcooked and tough. Son's penna pasta and smoked chicken was okay. For a bill over $100 one would expect better service and food. Living up here I know how hard it is to keep help but the poor service by undertrained waitresses need to be addressed.

Wonderful surprise in otherwise culinarily bleak surroundings. Wonderful beer and wine selection, Really good steak and amazing dessert -- try the apple caramel pie. Look forward to visiting again soon.
