Best Western The Inn at Buffalo Airport
Ranked #7 of 22 Hotels in Cheektowaga
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 15, 2011

I was traveling through Buffalo & needed a room with two queen beds near the airport. This was the only hotel I could find with those accommodations...so I took it. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean & spacious, the bathroom had new granite counter & shower enclosures...over all very nice experience. I didn't eat the breakfast included in the cost but it looked to be ample. The only negatives I could mention was that the room smelled musty at first but cleared after the a/c ran for a few hours. Also it is not really close to any decent places to eat. We ended up about 15 minutes away at an Applebees. But as I said, overall a very nice place to stay.

Clean, good housekeeping, reasonably quiet rooms but other issues would prevent our going back to this property. The tiny lobby was frequently crowded with guests waiting to check in or check out at an overwhelmed front desk. (I should say, though, that once you managed to get to the desk, the staff were remarkably calm and efficient.) The breakfast room was completely inadequate to the crowd and food was running out half an hour before it was scheduled to close down. Only one elevator for four floors, never actually broke down but frequently behaved oddly. There are better choices if you want to stay near the airport.

We value feedback from our guests and continue to work on improvements in service and efficiency. We do have plans to reconfigure the breakfast area to include a coffee station in the lobby to ease congestion as well as grab-and-go bags for a quicker departure.

Fantatic Staff - We had to deal with an issue (not to do woth the hotel) when we were there, and they went as far as letting us use the hotels cordless phone to make some personal calls. Very personable, and ready to help. Good rooms. Good breakfast! I really wouldn't pay much attention to the negative reviews below - IF we had encountered an issue with the hotel, I have no doubt that it wouldnt have been resolved in 5 sec. Stay here, and you'll get great value for the money.

Before staying at this Best Western, we found some reviews advising of bed bugs, but as the hotel was recently renovated, we thought everyting would be OK. I stayed at the hotel with my three daughter. I received bits on my arms immediately and 1 week later all three of my daughters developed rashes. They were seen by a dermatologist who advised that this was a delayed allergic reaction to bed bug bites and could last up to three month.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

It is unfortunate when this happens and we aren't alone with combating the issue. Four-star hotels share similar stories. In any case, when a situation such as this arises, the guest is transfered to another room and compensated. We then put the room out of service for a period of a week to undergo professional extermination. The room is put back in service after three successful inspections. We have a proactive and routine cleaning plan and do what is necessary to prevent the issues, which are generally isolated in nature.

Booked this hotel for at least the 10th visit as we had a golf tournament the following day. Quick check-in and friendly service. Room was clean and odour free although this one did not have a fridge like in past visits. Lots of parking and plenty of restaurants close by. Stayed for one night only and gone early in the morning. We passed on the breakfast as there was no fresh fruit or anything really interesting to eat. Don't see why this location gets bad reviews as its never disappointed us yet. Good hotel for staying short term -ie flying out at the airport etc.

I chose this location over the downtown location after reading reviews of each. If you dont mind staying by the airport, it is fine. I didnt hear any plane noise. The parking lot was crowded, although I always did find a place to park.

The breakfast was good, the rooms were nice, and the internet worked well. I would recommend this location to others.

Check in went smooth. Room was clean, good size for a family of four. Service was excellent. Front desk gave us whatever we asked for. Wi-fi was fast. Early complimentary breakfast was great, lots of choices. The only thing that we had an issue about was the long-term parking area for hotel, which they call satellite parking. When we came back from our cruise to pick up our car, the parking lot was blocked full of snow and the shuttle service just dropped us off at the side since it can't even get to the driveway. I would at least think that they would've hired a truck to plow the lot. We had to dig our van out of the snow to get out. Other than that, everything was ok.
