We've stayed 4 times in The Brewster Inn in Cazenovia, NY. A charming, art-sy town. Just returned from 2 days there. Well located - 1 1/2 hrs east to Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame/ Fenimore Cooper Museum), 30 min. west to Skaneateles -another lovely old town along the Finger Lakes. The carriage house is comfy, and quiet (especially the rooms in the rear, away from the route 20 traffic). The main house is a BIG, brown-shingled former summer home built in the 20's(?). The property goes down to the lake. If you like yester-year charm, history, and don't mind just a teensy-bit of worn ambience, you will enjoy this inn. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and spacious.
Breakfast is included and consists of a selection of hot drinks, cold cereals, inn-made fruit bread, fruits, breads, juice, cheeses and cold sausage cold cuts, etc. The dinners ARE NOT TO BE MISSED! Many locals, so reservations are good. My husband enjoyed the scallops so much, he had them both nights. Seafood is wonderful. Wines AA++!
