We chose a room in the Pinewood Lodge, highly recommended. We came straight from a 5 star hoten in Manhatten, which the Lodges certainly are not, but what they are is clean, quiet and spacious.
We had really thought about booking a room in the Inn itself, I am really glad that we didn't. The rooms at the Inn are MUCH smaller, however for us the difference is that the Inn is subject to noise from wedding parties. The weekend we were there a very noisy wedding would have really bothered us and stopped us sleeping.

We are glad to have had the opportunity to spend an evening at the Glen Iris Inn. We spent the morning sight-seeing in the Letchworth State Park and we were ready for the relaxing atmosphere of the Inn. This Inn is everything and more! From the moment we entered the Inn, the staff was attentive, witty, very personable and knowledgeable. We enjoyed an afternoon light lunch on the porch facing the middle falls. Unbelievable and so beautiful at the front door of this amazing Inn. The chef does an outstanding dinner menu so no reason to leave! Behind this lovely Inn is the Letchworth Museum.....a must see!

Room Tip: If going, you will definitely want a room in the Glen Iris Inn. Book early because these rooms go q...

We tried to book a room at the Inn but could only get a room in the Pinewood Lodge. The lodges are walking distance from the Inn set away from the road with their own outside table and chair and some bbq''s.
The lodges are described as 'luxury' but I found them quite basic although they were very clean and everything we needed was there.Because they are set amongst the trees, the rooms were very dark (there is only a small window at the front).
We did visit the Inn which looked very charming

What a beautiful and charming experience in an exceptional mid 1800's estate! Our lovely room was small but perfectly Victorian and quaint - and a happy experience compared to the sterile, uninspiring and cookie-cutter hotel chains everywhere. The charm takes you back over 150 years and it is easy to marvel at the incredible woodwork on the stairs and on each floor. Our cozy room was very clean and the private bathroom was perfect. For us, the creaks and squeaks in the floor and even the old fashioned bed gave it such charm & character - it made us smile! We splurged for a well appointed dinner the first night and also enjoyed a very delicious breakfast in the Inn. The sound of the incredibly beautiful Middle Falls - right outside the Inn - both day and night was a wonderful experience. My heart will always remember this stunning Inn in the State Park and the wonderfully warm staff. Although 2,000 miles away - we would love to make a special trip to Letchworth and the Glen Iris on a yearly basis! Sooooo worth it! If I could I would move right in! Bravo, Mr. Letchworth for your love of nature and philanthropic values!

This beautiful old inn was tucked away in Letchworth State Park and totally worth the drive. It was quiet and clean and very affordable. I was very surprised by the quality and quantity of the food served in the restaurant right within the inn. Delicious! My only negative comment would be that if you have any mobility issues do not plan to stay here it was quiet a climb to the rooms. You could make it a day trip to see the place and the beautiful falls as the ground floor housed the restaurant and was very accessible.

I can't say enough good things about this Inn. Located in Letchworth State Park outside of Rochester, NY, we stayed in the 1 suite they have there and had a wonderful time. Charming, wrought iron balcony overlooking waterfalls, huge double whirlpool bathtub (fits 2 comfortably!).
The Inn has a wonderful restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is excellent. Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, and if you're into hiking, plenty of that, too. It can be hard to get a reservation though, so plan plenty ahead.

Room Tip: There is only 1 suite and it books far in advance. Plan ahead if you want to have it for your overn...

Beautiful location, so so food, terrible room. On the plus side, the room and bath were probably the cleanest I've ever seen at a hotel, and I have traveled a lot. That goes a long way in my book. The minus side, however, overshadows any positive. Room was tiny, but that's expected for a Victorian hotel. However, our room was extraordinarily small, with absolutely no walking room to the sides of the bed. And it had the most uncomfortable bed i've (not) slept in in quite a while. It sagged in the middle, rocked with every slight movement, and was situated on an uneven floor. In addition, our room was right next to a wooden staircase, and we could hear all of the guests climbing to their room. No wifi available, and no cell service in its location.

In addition, the whole reservation process was archaic. We had someone book a block of rooms. They were not told upfront that there would be a charge to move a room to another name. And the process to do so was ridiculous. Finally, they moved the Couple that we were with to three different rooms in three nights. They had the reservation since March, yet they couldn't give them one room? Come on!

To the Glen Iris, a lot would be forgiven if you just had comfortable beds!
