A simply wonderful inn overlooking the middle falls of the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park. The gift of Wm. P. Letchworth to the people of NY, the inn may be the heart & soul of the park. Intimate rooms and suites, a kind and helpful staff and an awesome setting make for a wonderful place to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary! Even better, no wifi or cellular service, just afternoon beverages on the porch after a great bike ride exploring the park!

Stayed in the inn July 6th. The staff were so rude. I asked for a glass of water and was told they had none, asked for some ice and I would use the paper cup in room told they had none, asked if ther was Internet and was told on the manager is allowed to use it. Staff acted afraid of whoever the manger was. We sat on the porch for dinner and was told do not tell the boss we let you sit here. We felt very unwelcome. Park was beautiful enjoyed the falls

Room Tip: Bring your own water or something to drink

The inn gives you an experience of living in an old Victorian style house. We went there for the fourth of July weekend. We did not have reservation but while in the park we decided to inquire if they had a room. We got ourselves the smallest room in the inn " Linden room". The ladies in the front insisted that we see the room before booking it as it is very small room and many people don't like it. Yes the room was small but it was perfect for me and my husband. The inn itself if beautiful. We spent our evening sitting in the Veranda overlooking the fall. Although there is no wifi and our AT&T failed miserably in that area but still we spent good time away from the laptop and used our cellphone only to take pictures. The food at the inn is also good. Overall had a great time. We would like to stay again in Glen iris inn on our next trip to Letchworth park.

Room was dirty with tissue paper paper stuck in a hole in the wood paneling. Bathroom shelf was white with grime in the corners along with rust and rough thin towels. Very small, firm "Queen sized bed". Adjacent rooms were rented to a junior high girls lacrosse team that sat directly outside our window eating pizza while the parents smoked and talked loudly till late in the evening.....staff acted nasty when I complained....did nothing at all. Don't waste ur money staying here.

My b/f and I stayed in the Linden room which is very small but oh so cute and quaint. We did not have reservations as we ended up here on a whim. We left Ontario, crossed over to Buffalo and just drove with no destination in mind.

We saw the sign for Letchworth State park and decided to check it out. While driving thru the park, we saw the Inn and asked about a a room, we got the 'oveflow" room which we just loved and it was a bargain at $60/night. It is small mind you, but perfect for our needs. No radio though, that would be handy so we at least knew the time but we fared ok.

We had lunch at the restaurant which was very good and reasonably priced. The service was great, very attentive staff. We had drinks on the porch which is out front and overlooks the falls. At night if you choose to go out, they give you a key so you can return as they lock the doors at 9pm.

We drove to a nearby town where we picked up some dinner and brought it back. Great valley views of the surrounding areas.

We hiked for several hours on the Saturday and quite enjoyed ourselves. All in all, a perfect mini vacation.

We stayed for three nights in May 2013 at the Glen Iris Inn located inside Letchworth State Park. The inn itself is beautiful and loaded with history.

We had the Maple Suite on the third floor. It was worth going up all those stairs! It had a bedroom and separate living room with two couches. I love to read and it was perfect...I had one couch and my husband used the other and the coffee table for his laptop. Note that there is no internet service at the inn, however. The decor was beautiful and the queen
bed very comfy. It was a very high bed, so not for anyone who might have trouble climbing into it, however. The bathroomhas a whirlpool tub and nice hot shower.

Next to our suite was a huge and beautifully appointed library. It has the only TV for the inn, and is available for all guests. I was happy that few people used it for TV so I was able to sit in there reading as an alternative to the suite.

The inn is situated right at the spectacular Middle Falls of the Gorge. It's almost impossible to describe how majestic the falls are, and located steps away from the front porch of the inn. The falls are lit with white lights at night, making it a great viewing experience.

This is the type of inn where you wake up to a great breakfast in a dining room with great views, and after breakfast just walk out the door to start hiking. There is really not much around but the park and the inn, so fortunately the inn serves a very lovely dinner. Breakfast and dinner are not included in the room rate, but they have a package of breakfast and dinner for $100 which is a good deal if you like to eat a lot! Meals were excellent;luckily as there is not an alternative nearby. Coffee is available to early risers in the second floor sitting area and you can order drinks or snacks on the veranda. This is just my kind of inn.

My husband decided he just HAD to go to Niagra Falls, so we got up early and went for the day. The trip is about 1.5 hours. I would have preferred to stay and relax and hike, but it was fun.

The gorge trail along the rim is incredible. You can walk as far as the length of the park (7 miles) or as far as you want. We were amazed by the views of the three falls and of the river far below. There are many old stone stairs on the trail, it very atmospheric.

All the staff are friendly and helpful. All in all this was a fantastic experience at a very unique inn set in lovely surroundings.

Room Tip: The Maple Suite where we stayed had a bedroom with high queen bed, nice bathroom with whirlpool tub...

I took my mother here for an extended weekend stay at the end of April. We stayed in the "Hemlock" room on the second floor. Many of the rooms are quite small and none of them have a TV (which we knew going in and liked). All rooms have their own bathrooms. There is however a TV on the 3rd floor that guests can use. Being able to stay on the grounds of Letchworth State Park is worth it. The Inn has a wonderful restaurant, Caroline's, which serves up breakfast, lunch, late lunch snack, dinner and drinks and snacks are offered on the front porch as well. The food was quite good and the wine selection was amazing. If you are a guest of the Inn no reservations are required and you can charge pretty much everything to your room. There is a wonderful little gift shop in the Inn as well. The park its self offers miles of hiking trails and the views are spectacular. We also booked at rafting trip during our stay with Adventure Calls. Their site is located at the lower falls in the park which was convienent. At only $35 a person the white water rafting is something that you should definitely take advantage of. (be sure to make reservations ahead of time as it tends to fill up fast). There is so much history and beauty that this place has to offer - I will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: The Cherry suite is the largest but also the most expensive. Most of the rooms in the Inn are simil...
