Definitely worth a visit, even if you are not Buddhist. The grounds are large and perfect for wandering or just taking a break from the hustle and bustle and see the deer, the carp, and the birds. Ceremonies are occasionally held, which are open to the public. The library is full of great materials on Buddhism. You can even stay in the dorm if you apply ahead of time, I believe. Monks and nuns live here and will greet you warmly.
