A St. Lawrence University alumna, my husband and I brought our daughter to Canton to tour the campus. Three of us shared a room in the lovely Craftsman house. Home away from home --but cleaner! Amazing breakfast. I look forward to returning and will spread the word to fellow alumni. Thank you!

My husband and I were able to get a room at the White Pillars for the Clarkson University Parents weekend. It was a wonderful experience. It was convenient and only about 20 minutes away from campus. John and Donna, the owners, were lovely. The room was immaculate and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, linens were top shelf, bathroom was spotless and spacious. Would not hesitate to stay with them again. The feeling was more if an Inn than a B&B. We did not get breakfast as we had other plans but it smelled heavenly. We will be returning.

We cant say enough about how pleasant our stay was at the White Pillars Inn. Our room was in the in Craftsman House on the first floor. The owners know what they are doing. The bedrooms are well appointed and very accommodating. The common areas are inviting and cozy. Even though we were on a college move in trip, the kitchen made us want to cook up a storm and eat in! We also have some entertaining conversation with fellow guest going through the move in too. The only disappointment is that the owners were not available during the weekend to meet.

Room Tip: talk with the owners to find if there is room you might like better, all seemed great to us but ther...

This is our third visit this year and we would never consider staying elsewhere within the Canton area. The choice of guest suites provide a wide range of luxurous comfort at extremely reasonable rates. The individual homes are spectacularly appointed, with top quality furnishings, unique architecture, and country charm. The breakfasts were a pleasant surprise, being feasts consisting of an array of fresh, organic/natural ingredient home made delicious foods that rival the best fine dining experience you could imagine. During our time here we have gotten to know our hosts, John and Donna, extending our breakfast time with them by sharing stories on any subject matter and with lots of laughter. They are extremely interesting and thoughtful people that ensure that your needs are met. We are anxiously looking forward to our next visit!

WE arrived in a snow storm and were taken to the Craftsman building by the innkeeper, John. He was very helpful and informative. Because scheduled guests did not come, we were upgraded to the Royal Suite. It was fantastic in every way. Beautiful period craftsman furniture and decor, updated bathroom, jet tub and large shower. The view was of a large meadow. We did not have breakfast but enjoyed our stay very much.

We have been having the usual issues getting lodging in the Potsdam area. For this weekend, it was the Clarkson Cornell hockey game. A friend recommended the White Pillars. We got a room in the Craftsman (there are 3 different buildings). What a wonderful surprise.Tbe place has been updated wonderfully. My wife is a clean freak and it met her standards. The owners are very accomodating. The ONLY beef is that it is about 25 minutes from Potsdam but it is worth the drive. We did not have the breakfast but are told it is amazing.

We will return.

My coworkers and I have been traveling back and forth to the Canton, NY region for the past 4 months. Initially we stayed in the area's hotels and were not impressed. Due to luck one of our trips we were not able to find rooms, and happened to venture on to White Pillars website. We called and talked to Donna and she was able to find rooms for all 9 of us, even giving up her own room so we could have everyone in the same location. Once we arrived at White Pillars and the Craftsman Suites we were all blown away by the beauty of the homes and our surroundings. Donna and her husband, and the cleaning staff were so nice and friendly that we couldn't have asked for anything better. Most of us have spent 80% of the year in hotels and we all agreed this was the nicest place we have ever stayed. Thank you so much!!!!!
