“Great B & B”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

Just returned from a weekend at the 1795 Acorn Inn. Sheryl, the innkeeper, and her team are friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The Inn is beautiful. The gardens are gorgeous this time of year. The hot tub is relaxing. And the breakfast is FABULOUS! We will return. It was just an all around wonderful experience.

Many thanks Donna for your lovely comments. I would happily welcome you and Kathryn again in a heartbeat. If there was such a thing as a guest advisor... you would both get five bubbles. It's my pleasure to have you stay. Take care.

It was our one year wedding anniversary and we were so looking forward to getting to spend a quiet, romantic night away from home. Due to our busy schedules we were only able to spend one night and were concerned that we wouldn't be able to have bed and breakfast experience because there are minimum 2 night stays for most B&Bs. But even though it was a holiday weekend, Sheryl made an accommodation for us and we were enthusiastic about our stay. We were definitely not disappointed. The inn is very quaint and beautifully decorated and can you say COMFORTABLE!! There were a plethora of DVDs and books that you can borrow during your stay. We stayed in the barn suite which is completely separate from the B&B and located in the back. There is your own kitchenette, big screen TV, a day bed and a big king sized bed. The next day we had an amazing breakfast. It was the first time that I'd had blueberries in my eggs and it was deliciously sweet. We heard about the French Toast from the day before and we can't wait to come back for a two or three day stay the next time. If you're seeking a retreat, this is definitely the way to go.

Room Tip: Barn suite is the biggest room and like staying in your own B&B

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the 1795 Acorn Inn to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had spent our wedding night there 20 years earlier, but then the inn was under different ownership. Like a fine wine, the 1795 Acorn Inn improved over time. The current innkeeper, Sheryl, has thought of everything and guests can tell she works tirelessly to maintain its elegance and comfort. Our room was impeccably clean and the breakfasts most delicious. Another couple staying at the inn were also repeat guests, having been several times in the past couple of years. We shall not wait another 20 years to visit the inn again.

Room Tip: We reserved the Angell Room because it overlooks a stream and the bucolic backyard.

We stayed at the Acorn Inn last summer while touring the Finger Lakes Wineries. It is the BEST B&B in which we have ever stayed. The breakfasts were amazing. Creme Brulee French Toast, strawberry soup, and wonderful conversation. We highly recommend this B&B and the Finger Lakes region.

We took advantage of a three-nights-for-price-of-two deal and couldn't have been happier. Sheryl runs an impressive B&B. The place is spotless and has all the amenities you could want for a quiet respite. We'll never forget the delicious breakfasts and first-rate hospitality.

Our innkeeper had great suggestions for things to do around Canandaigua, especially at a less-than-peak time for tourism. She also was thoughtful; once she saw we carried smartphones she left an iPhone dock/alarm clock in our room.

Sheryl -- don't change a thing! We'll be back again!

We had a beautiful stay and were really impressed with the innkeeper.

We had scheduled a cooking class at the Culinary Institute in Canandaigua.
Our main purpose was to see a concert but even better was this farmer's market cooking class where we were given $20 and picked out some items from the farmer's market that we had never cooked or used before.
We found out at breakfast that another couple from the Inn were also going to be in the same class.
What a team. It was so much fun.

Great stay in a great area.
