The Chalet of Canandaigua

My husband and I went here for the night and had a great stay. This B&B is the best we have been to. The owners were very friendly and made sure you had whatever you needed. The cozy fireplace area overlooking a beautiful winter view was so relaxing. Our room had a fireplace that you could see from the main bedroom area and the bathroom. Everything was very clean and well organized. The morning after our stay there was the most amazing breakfast. I cant even describe how great it was...you just have to check it out for yourself. We cant wait to tell all our friends and family to take a night or two and relax at the Chalet of Canandaigua!

We weren't even thru the door, meeting Patty and Margaret and already realized "OK, one night is not enough, this would have been even better if we booked it for 2 or more nights. We have to come back". The hospitality Margaret and Patty show to their guests is second to none. Personal attention given to all aspects of the stay, from nutritional preferences or restrictions to guidance on things to do in the area to make sure the stay is pleasant all the way around. We opted to have dinner at the chalet and we thoroughly enjoyed the fine dinner selection of great home cooked food. The room we had was lovely, very clean, decorated with a lot of taste and simply perfect. After taking a bath in the large stand alone bathtub with the fireplace across, we fell sound asleep in the very comfortable king size bed, just to be woken gently by a smell of coffee that worked its way into our noses the next morning. The homemade breakfast rounded up a very romantic and relaxing stay at the Chalet that we will repeat very soon. Our batteries are recharged - thank you! Next time - for 2 nights.

Room Tip: - any of the 3 rooms are great! The website provides are very good idea of what options you have.

What an amazing experience. It felt like we were hidden away miles away from civilization. The house is beautiful. Patti and Margaret were great hosts and even better cooks. The breakfast was a 3 course meal that would put many 5 star restaurants to shame. We can't wait to go back.

I almost hesitate to write this review because more people will find out how great the Chalet is and then we won't be able to get a reservation! Patty and Margaret hit a home run with this. The location is wonderful because it's quiet and remote on the hill but very close to Canandaigua for dinner and shopping. We loved the deck and it was great in December to have blankets and have a drink out there (and then come in by the fire). Breakfast was outstanding and the evening dessert was to die for! I loved the Lee suite and the on demand fireplace which i put on every morning. The beds were so comfortable I hated to get up! We used to be bed and breakfast owners ourselves and don't stay at many any more but we WILL come back here very soon! We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary here and it lived up to that special occasion. Don't hesitate....book now!! Thanks so much!!

We highly recommend the Chalet. Our stay was better than we could have hoped for! We stayed here for our honeymoon and our hosts Patty and Margaret were the best. After our wonderful wedding reception, we headed straight to the Chalet. The place was very comfortable, homey and beautifully decorated inside. After a long day we were greeted by both and knew we had picked a great spot for our honeymoon. Our wonderful hosts made us feel welcomed and served us cheese and crackers, followed by delicious home made chicken soup. (It was as good as my Mom's!). Topped off with dessert. We had our privacy and enjoyed all this in front of the wood fire place. Margaret would even come up and stoke the fireplace once in awhile for us. Our room was perfect, it was a luxurious suite that had all the amenities. It was clean, comfortable and warm with a gas fireplace. Sure beats staying at any of the fine hotels I've been too. Each mornings breakfast was unique and the best I've had. I couldn't even remember the names of these almost exotic delicacies, but we didn't leave a crumb! I'm convinced that there wasn't a restaurant within a 100 mile radius that could match Patty and Margaret's imagination. These girls put there heart and soul into this place. They sat down with us and went over the town and surrounding sights to help us plan our day. The service was awesome, the place was perfect down to the smallest detail, our hosts made us feel like the Chalet was our home for our time there. We plan on spending an anniversary or two there for sure.

Everything was first rate! Patty and Margaret took great care of us. We had just been married a few days prior to our arrival and Patty and Margaret had a cheese plate and a bottle of wine waiting for us. More notably, though, the chalet itself is a fantastic lodge in the woods that is rustic, welcoming, and relaxing. We enjoyed the Balcony room as well as sitting around the fireplace looking out the big windows at the fresh snowfall. Patty and Margaret's breakfasts were excellent and we really enjoyed their hospitality and guidance of things to do in the Finger Lakes region. We would definitely come back.
