The Office bills itself as a taproom, and a fellow we met last year -- we've had a place on Canandaigua Lake for 50 years -- recommended we stop in to try some local beers. So on a rainy Tuesday afternoon we did. The office had 8 taps going -- four with locally-made Naked Dove -- but we couldn't get served. There were two old guys at one end of the bar, each with a half-filled pint-glass, and two 40-something women at the other end, again each with a half-filled pint. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes. The woman bartender was in and out during those 10 minutes and never made eye contact. The owner was also past us a half dozen times -- asking the women if they'd have another and placing an NFL bet with one of the old guys, but we weren't greeted, we weren't asked if we wanted a drink, we were totally ignored. After 10 minutes, we left, and we're crossing Eric's Office off our list. Not sure what's wrong with us-- 60-something boomers with a yen for local beer -- but they didn't want our business. Think twice about giving them yours.
