We used to like going to Schooners, however during this visit the waitress hung around the next table gabbing with friends. I did not want to hear her discuss her family and their issues but we couldn't help but hear them. The atmosphere is no longer professional. Based on other reviews, they have changed owners and it shows. They need a dining room manager who is not afraid to manage! Lack of training, low expectations of employees and no supervision showed. I guess the owner is not on the premises during dinner.

Excellent seafood, good drinks, nice atmosphere and very attentive waitstaff. A very good local place. Definitely would eat there again.

Food is always consistent, great service, good people. We have never been dissappointed. If you are looking for a good family or couples night its wonderful. Prices are so reasonable too.

8 of us visited the Schooner during a bike trip on the Erie Canal. They were short handed but took our reservation anyway. What a disaster! The food was at best mediocre and the service was terrible. We waited a half hour for drinks, and over an hour and a half for our meals. None of the tables around us were bused after customers left, and we felt like we were eating in a disaster zone. The 2 waitresses were working like crazy but couldn't keep up, while the owner was at a Labor Day picnic and couldn't care less. I'd stay away from this restaurant, especially with large groups. (Also teh picture they publish shows a lakefront view, which they are not on!)

We were here with a family group, and so understandably service was slow with a large group. Nevertheless, the food quality was quite possibly the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. The pasta was bland, dessert was plain vanilla ice cream, and it cost $92 for 6 meals. What a waste of time, money, and calories.
