We were in the area & after a day of sightseeing we didn't feel like cooking so, we took a chance to see if we could get a table (it was Friday night & we knew we wouldn't get a table in the "other" Italian Restaurant we had visited) We couldn't get a table however, we could sit at the bar. Which was OK. The bartender wasn't as attentive to us as he was to other patrons who were obviously "regulars". We had to constantly get his attention. Starting with trying to order a bottle of wine to start us off. We ordered a cheese board for an appetizer which was just OK. Both of us ordered the seafood (shrimp, clams, scallops) Fri Diablo. It was flavorful but, for the price of $30, the scallops in my opinion should have been the large Sea Scallops, not those small, tasteless bay scallops. We ended the evening with a cappuccino, an espresso & two cordials (B&B). We meet two very nice couples (one couple who owned a summer home on the Lake & another couple who were just in town for the night) whom we had very enjoyable conversations with. Sorry got off my task of reviewing this restaurant! Well, we both felt this meal was good but, nothing that either of us would say wow, that was a great meal. Also way, way overpriced paying $176 with tip for two people

We happened to be in Canadaigua during dinner time last night and popped into this small but cozy bistro. VERY tasty, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was good too. We will for sure try it again. Try the homemade gnocchi!!

Il Posto is our favorite restaurant in Canandaigua! We love the European ambiance and delicately seasoned dinners. Their salads are unique, light and so delicious! The wine list features a variety of European selections, and the entrees are fabulous. Although this is a fine dining experience, they do serve amazing pizza, too! Great date night place to go. It is cozy, intimate, attractive and spotless. The owners are always present and make sure everything is first class.

My husband and I visited this quaint bistro tucked into Main Street on a recommendation from friends. Intimate and romantic space. Our server was excellent, the food was authentic, delicious and just the right amount. Great wine list and I love that they promote the local wineries. Only one request….please add Belhurst Chardonnay to your collection - I had an opportunity to try this on our trip and was amazed at the quality. Definitely a place we will revisit on our next trip.

I had read some good reviews and was looking for some good, high end Italian food. I had fried goat cheese Salad and my husband had the Romaine Salad with Gorgonzola. Excellent taste but potions are small. We returned our first basket of bread since it was burnt and hard as a rock at the bottom of the roll. Next basket was soft as it should be. I had the Veal & Shrimp. Veal was good although a bit overcooked. My husband had the Shrimp Pasta special which had a very good flavor. We ended our meal with coffee and Chocolate Chip Cannoli's, which were mediocre at best. The filling was watery and the chocolate chips were rarely seen. Coffee came after we were almost finished with the Cannoli's. For the price, $113.45 before tip, we felt our dinner the night before at Warfields in Clifton Springs was a better value for less money. Here we felt rushed as the place is very busy and they seemed to need tables and were anxious to get people in and out. Seemed like if you knew someone in town you had a better chance for camaraderie from staff and management. It is more of a bistro and probably a better place for lunch versus an upscale dinner as we were hoping for.
