This highlight of this hotel is its beautiful view. The buildings are very well maintained and there are plenty of comfortable common spaces including a beautiful outdoor area with Adirondack chairs and fireplaces. The rooms are very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds and all have a lakefront view. The general theme is rustic lodge and the dining room/bar is a very pleasant space. The menu is limited but the food is well prepared with friendly and good service. Overall a great place for a relaxing weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for 3rd floor so you don't hear foot steps above!

Stayed at Bristol Harbour for 1 night - cozy large rooms (king bed), great when it's cold as you can put the fireplace on to warm up the room + the heated bathroom floors came in handy too. Stayed on the top floor, which had great views of the lake. There were a couple of weddings on, which we were a little worried about noise but didn't hear a peep after midnight. Had dinner in the restaurant (rib eye steak), overall the meal and service was great however the steak was slightly cold. We were surprised how quick the service was especially having two wedding parties next door to us. The only issue we had was with the spa as we pre-booked an appointment prior to arriving at the resort and no one showed up (waited 25 mins), which we were disappointed with. We rec'd a phone call later to say they were given the wrong time (very unprofessional). Other than this mishap we would recommend the resort and the fall is probably the most beautiful time of the year to go.

Room Tip: Request the top floor as you get great views of the lake.

The sink drain in our room was stuck in the closed position. At 5 p.m. the front desk was notified of the problem and I was assured that it would be fixed immediately. When I returned to the room at 11 p.m. nothing had been done. The following morning as I started to make a pot of coffee, I saw that the filter pack from the previous guest was still in the pot. Not acceptable for any priced hotel, but certainly I would have expected better from one charging $264.10 per night.

Ms. Tesoriero:
I am very sorry for your stay not being up to the high standards that we try to hold our resort to. I assure that my self and our Hotel Manager (Kristin Reamer) are personally trying to resolve this issue in order to prevent any future issues from happening again. We at Bristol Harbour Resort hold our employees to a very high standard and we hope that it will show in each stay that we have here.
Again I sincerely apologize for your less than acceptable stay, I do hope that this will not prevent you from visiting us again, and if there is anyway that we may be able to accommodate you for a stay in the future, we would love the opportunity to show you the exceptional service and quality stay that we know we are capable of.

I do hope we can put this experience behind us, if you would like to contact me; I would love to speak with you.

We rented a cottage at Bristol Harbor Resort for two nights. The cottage overlooked Lake Canandaigua - and the view was simply spectacular. The cottage was modern with a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. There was a porch off the living room that allowed you to relax and enjoy the view. The cottage was clean and attractively decorated. Beds were lush and comfortable. We would stay here again. However, I wish the resort provided more than one bar of soap in the bathroom - at $500 per night, you would think shampoo and a bath bar could be provided.

Rooms are large and comfortable. Furnishings are very nice. The rooms all have a backdoor which opens to a common balcony lined with Adirondack chairs and beautiful views of the lake. Top floor views are the best (3 stories). Walls are pretty thin. Restaurant is unfortunately not very good. Expensive, edible at best, certainly not gourmet. There are no nearby dining options unless you go back to Canandaigua (which we will next time). Golf course is ok. The back nine winds around the forest. The front nine is links style. The back used to be very scenic and tranquil before the housing development infiltrated the golf course. Now many of the fairways which were previously lined with forest are lined with people's backyards. Nevertheless, it makes for a nice walk in the evening when the golfers are gone. The lake water is very clean and would be nice to swim in if it weren't for the abundance of aquatic plants. There is so much plant life that it feels very creepy to swim in. Lots of fish. The lake is very pretty to look at. 19 mi long, 2 mi wide, lined with cliffs and tall hills. Bristol Mountain is 20 min away (skiing).

Room Tip: top floor has the best lake view and further from the lawn which could be noisy if there are other g...

If you're looking for a vacation in the Finger Lakes-- hands down BHR offers the most options for year round fun. I was looking for a short term rental on Canandaigua lake which is not easy to find. Bristol built five 2 story cottages (one unit is the spa) a few years back to keep the noisy golf and wedding crowd away from the private condos and homes.

Although barren and stark on the outside a (a few trees and shrubs would do wonders to their appearance) the interiors are pleasant and spacious and include 3 flat screen TVs and wi fi. Housekeeping and maintenance could be improved (our shower did not drain and floors were dusty) and there's only one grill stuck near the front porch for both units which is really cheap!

The lake front is beautiful with a huge deck, beach, swimming, and boat/sail and kayak area. The restaurant offers stunning southern lake views but unfortunately the two meals we had were terrible and I felt sorry for the waiter who seemed to know it!

Be aware that BHR is a big destination for weddings. The wedding parties are located on either side of the main public dining areas so that means that when you and your family are having dinner, you may be watching or mingling with wedding guests and hearing their band. It's like the wedding channel LIVE!

The resort falls short if you define resort with a capitol R. There are no evening activities or a small shop to purchase any perishables or nibbles. These amenities can be found within a 10-20 minute drive to town. Recognizing their limitations, BHR remains an attractive vacation destination that offers a wide spectrum of enjoyable activities in a truly beautiful region of New York State. We hope to return again with our family.

Room Tip: The choice location for a view in the cottages is the second story.

I have been here on guys trips for golf many times and this past weekend we went with 3 other couples and stayed in the hotel. As always the golf course is awesome...very challenging and always in terrific condition. Rained heavy Friday night but we were able to do 90 degree rule with the golf carts....saved a lot of walking.

Hotel rooms were very nice and at first was dissappointed being on ground floor as we gave up some view but was great to be able to gather outside our rooms on the picnic table after our round of golf.

We eneded up not going for dinner to 9PM and closed the restaurant, food was awesome and so was the staff. Lots of laughing and the views from the outdoor restaurant were truly amazing.

Everyone we met was most friendly and helpful. So much so, we are planning a return trip next year but plans are for 2 nights and staying in the cottages.

Thanks to all at Bristol for a great getaway.
