This Inn has some very nice features! We really enjoyed our stay there. The grounds are gorgeous! The setting is very tranquil and restorative. It has a wonderful babbling brook running behind it with a waterfall and walking trails. The sunny front yard is huge with a little pond in front and lots of pretty gardens and sitting areas. The building itself is impressive and has an ancient feel. The common areas are inviting, especially the sitting room with views of the backyard birds, and the fireplace room.
The downside is the bedrooms are not really up to snuff. They are plainly decorated, which is OK, but furnishings are also a little bit run down. The carpeting is commercial grade, and old. The beds were great and the linens were fine, too. But the lighting, showers (ours was TINY and had no water pressure), and carpeting need updating. Personally it didn't bother me, but I can see someone else being bothered by the carpet and shower. The rates reflect a certain economy, and I prefer the great rate, and being outside where the scenery is priceless!
The Innkeepers, Ingram and Tricia, were just the right combination of friendly, but not too friendly , so the Inn doesn't have that pushy feel present in many B&Bs.
Breakfast was great - nice scrambled eggs, cereal, fresh fruit , toasts, cheese, juice, coffee,teas- perfect. We'll be going back soon!
(PS- the Inn is also pet friendly, which is an added bonus!)
