“A fun stop on country drive.”

Rustic Ridge Winery
Reviewed June 11, 2012

A very nice facility nestled in beautiful country. Well worth the short drive from Cooperstown. The only disappointment was that they neither grow the grapes nor make the wine there: all is shipped in from the Finger Lakes area. But for a pleasant stop with genial and enthusiastic hosts and a wide range of wines and local produce, it was a very pleasant surprise.

In a mere year and a half, this new addition to the area has been very active, hosting craft show vendors, pork roasts and weddings. I've been there several times and really like the wines as well. There are glasses, tshirts and even a chocolate fountain on special occasions. jellies, and thinking outside the box (no pun intended) makes this place worth the visit to the sticks. it is actually on a main road and near Cooperstown, on the beverage trail, which I think will only help its success. Way to go.

I stopped in today for a few minutes. I was not offered a sample of wine, and don't drink wine, so I cannot comment on the wine! The place is very clean, offers some interesting products and the owner/operators are very friendly. They have some upcoming events (like a pig roast) that I am interested in attending.

I went here hoping to try some unique wines and came away a bit surprised. All the wines they have are currently produced and bottled by another winery in the Finger Lakes. They simply put their own label on them. The owner is currently trying to grow grapes in this region and I applaud his efforts. For now though, if I wanted a different wineries' wines, I would go to that winery instead! The tasting room does sell some nice local products though if you are interested.

We've been here 5 or 6 times already. Would definitely recommend it for those who like "down home" wineries. Owner is super friendly, shares wonderful stories and is anxious to please. His Mascot black lab will leap into your car to take a ride if you leave the door or windows open for any length of time (Too cute and ever so friendly) Sweet little Blonde is absolutely to die for for those of you who enjoy a sweet wine.
