“Wonderful B&B!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

My husband and I stayed here while we were participating in the Chocolate and Wine Weekend. We stayed in the Green room which was spacious. The bathroom was gorgeous and felt spa-like with the stonework. The walk-in shower was large and had a waterfall feature.

Frank and Donna were extremely knowledgeable about the area and were able to tell us about things to do and places to eat. In the downstairs living room, they provided a binder filled with menus for all the local eateries.

For breakfast, there were biscuits, yogurt with granola, and all types of bread. We were also offered several different options of "hot items." My husband and I both choose French toast and we were not disappointed.

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me to Watkins Glen, NY. The little town was so cute! We stopped at a restaurant called Wildflower for lunch before he surprised me with this amazing B&B. We drove up to a beautiful home that was right on the water. It was so perfect. Frank & Donna both greeted us so kindly and welcomed us to their home. They gave us a tour of the house and showed us the breathtaking view. The pictures say it all. That is exactly how it looks. It was quiet and peaceful and they gave us our privacy. The house was decorated for Christmas and looked amazing. Frank was baking his family recipe banana bread that they shared with us when we left on our hike :) I wasn't a cat person until I saw Smudge, she was so pretty and sat under the christmas tree the entire time.
Frank & Donna were so hospitable and kind. The smell of breakfast in the morning made our tummies growl and Donnas french toast was delicious!! They even had bacon that was locally made which tasted much different than the store bought bacon.
They asked for our feedback when we left and we honestly had nothing to say. Everything was so perfect in the rooms and we didn't feel like the place was lacking anything.
This place is perfect for a romantic getaway or a family holiday. We will definitely be going back again :)

Room Tip: Choose the room with the sunset and water view!! Its so beautiful waking up to the water :)

We love it when a surprise works out. We have enjoyed sharing our home for the last ten years with some wonderful people! We continue to learn from our guests, and strive to maintain the level of service we have traditionally provided. Remember, if there is anything you think we should have, or be doing, let us know. We will consider it, and who knows, you just might see it the next time you're here. Thank you so much...

We felt welcome from the moment we came in, receiving pleasant introductions and a helpful tour of the house and available spaces. The house has a very warm feel, with lots of hardwood and inviting layout (high ceilings, cozy library, beautiful bay window looking out onto Seneca Lake). Hosts have prior service in the military, which contributed to their quality of service, level of professionalism, and worldly stories to tell. Delicious breakfast and great conversation! Definitely recommend to family and friends, had a extremely pleasant stay.

Room Tip: If possible, get the Green Room - waterfall shower a huge plus.

Our first trip to the Finger Lakes was made very special by our stay at Sunset on Seneca Lake. The location , the view of the lake, the amazing breakfasts, the hot tub overlooking the lake, the charm of the house were amazing. The owners, Donna and Frank were fabulous; they were helpful with information, worked well as a team in meeting all of our needs and made us feel comfortable immediately.
The fall foliage was spectacular which made the view from the dining room very special.
If you are looking for privacy, large rooms with comfy robes and views and great food-this is the place for you!
We are planning to return in the summer and will definitely stay at this lovely B and B.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the lake is recommended!

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at Sunset on Seneca. This was our second time we stayed with Frank and Donna. Wonderful facility, super hospitable hosts.and very cean rooms and bathrooms. They even shared a dessert of Grape pie with us and the other two guest rooms on Saturday night. You are right on the lake when you stay here. Plenty of outside seating areas and great lake views from 2 of the 3 guest rooms.

Room Tip: The blue and white rooms face the lake.

My husband and I just spent the weekend with another couple visiting many wineries on Keuka and Seneca Lakes. We have made this trip for many years. This is our first time staying at Sunset on Seneca, but it won't be our last! Frank and Donna were wonderful, making sure that we had everything we needed. They offered great suggestions for restaurants - some we had never seen or heard of in our travels to the area. They're very friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. They're outgoing and available without hovering over you or being overbearing. They're the perfect host and hostess!

The house is in the perfect location for touring wineries, visiting restaurants and local sites, and having a FABULOUS view of Seneca Lake. The rooms were clean, neat, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were beyond anything we could've gotten out at any of the local diners/breakfast spots (and we've eaten at many of them!). The food was fabulous and if you left the table hungry, it was your own fault as the food choices were endless and Frank and Donna offered refills time and again until you left the table. Donna was even kind enough to share the recipe for one of our favorite dishes she served to us!

We would highly recommend a stay at Sunset on Seneca - although we're afraid to tell TOO many people because we don't want to have trouble getting a reservation for a future trip! ;-)

Room Tip: The White room and the Blue room have gorgeous lake views. The Green room has an amazing bathroom!

We have a sign over our front door. "Enter as strangers, leave as friends." We try very hard to live up to it.
It's always a good feeling when all the hard work pays off. Thanks a million!

This was not your standard B & B. Very quickly you become like family with Frank and Donna, the hosts. Apart from the private rooms, there is a very large open living room where guests can relax, hang around with the B & B's resident cats, and of course the hosts. Despite the proximity, Frank and Donna do not hover, but allow you to ease into the place, as you would in your own place. In fact, you get to feel as though this is your place.

The first place we ended up was on the deck and pier - right on the water. We enjoyed some wine and of course the sunset. Within minutes of arriving Frank brought out some cheese and crackers for us to complete the experience. No exaggeration that this is a wonderful place to see the sun set over the lake and opposite hills.

And the breakfast was superb. Lots of choices and incredibly delicious. This is place worth repeat visits.
