This is the Belmont from A BRONX TALE. Right near Fordam University. It's only a few stops northbound from Grand Central Station on Metro-North. Cost is $6.25 each way off-peak or you can save on a weekend pass. There are several excellent restaurants on & off Arthur Ave. When leaving Metro-North station, you just cross the street and walk a few blocks to Arthur Ave. You will see a sign for ARTHUR AVE market. Turn right & you will start seeing places withing a couple blocks. In fact, Michaelangelos Brick Over Pizzeria will be on your right. This was my favorite place that I have tried. As you keep walking you will see 2 places that sell fresh raw clams & oysters. Randazzos is my favorite, but they are closed on Sundays. Mario's was the scene of the cop killer scene in THE GODFATHER & some Sopranos scenes were filmed here. This place is worth trying as well. This is not the type of area you just visit once! The Arthur Ave market can take up at least an hour of your time & plenty of money too. My favorite place for pastries is Artusos. This is a few blocks off Arthur Ave on East 187th St., but worth the detour. There is parking around Arthur Ave. which is good because if you do not have a car, you are limited on how much shopping you can do. This area is nothing like Manhattan in terms of trying to find parking or the cost of.
