The eggplant parmesan is authentic and the taste is simply delicious. Entering Tino's Deli is reminiscent of visiting Napoli. Overall, the décor is attractive and quite inviting.

When I was a kid,I used to enjoy going into the local deli and smelling all the flavors and looking at the assortment of cold cuts and cheese. There were so many things to see and eat. Choices, so many choices. Entering Tino's is like a walk down memory lane. They have a wide selection of deli meats, cheeses
sodas, and hot foods. The most amazing thing was the clerks actually knew how to cut the meli meats, nice and thin. They make wonderful sandwiches. What a delightful place to enjoy
a leisurely lunch. Personally, I perfer to purchase 5 or 6 different deli meats and cheeses, a few sodas and walk across the street to the bakery and purchase a fresh loaf of bread and sit in the nearby park and enjoy. The cold cuts always fresh, the service is great and the staff are very friendly Try the fresh pork sandwhich - what a treat.

Tino's is not technically a restaurant. It is a deli with excellent imported Italian specialties including extra virgin olive oils and rare balsamic vinegars as well as home made cheeses and salads. But it does have a few tables where you can eat one of their overstuffed sandwiches, pasta or brick oven pizza — all excellent.

The proprietor — who is always there to offer excellent culinary advice — is a grand old man of the unique Arthur Avenue food scene having established a great stall at the Arthur Avenue Public Market and a superb liquor store specializing in Italian wines and grappas.

Each time he has moved on he has made sure that his prior shop remains in good hands. His sister continues the tradition of quality at the market stall and the Dominican owner of the liquor store has become a real authority on Italian wine.

This Deli located near the Bronx Zoo and the NY Botanical gardens, warrants every bit of all the accolades you can read in its reviews. It is not an oversized eatery reminiscent of many Manhattan delis but a family sized private expression of love by the Italian owners who run it. (as if they were serving their own families.) Always busy due to its proximity to the above attractions, its lunch devotees (primarily from the neighboring Fordham University Campus) are testimony to just how good this place is. The sandwiche offerings our uniquely diverse as well as traditional, the ingredients freshly made and sliced to order all day.....but the charm is in sitting and just watching the smiles on every face that enters .....but more so when they leave. While we ate our lunch and drooled over the prospect of shopping afterwards amoung the shelves of unique imported specialties, we could not but marvel at how happy all the waiting customers seemed to be at the prospects of what they were about to experience. When they packaged their goods and took them home to enjoy...the smiles just got bigger.
Know that this little deli does not have a lot of seating. It is on a first come-first serve basis and you may be sharing your table with someone from the home country . But only the severely over indulged would ever try to rush this experience. The eye feasts on the trays of eggplant parmigiana and homemade mozzarella, while the mind wanders the display cases of imported cheeses and specialty pastas. The huge wheel of parmigiana reggiano sitting atop the stuffed deli case with a multitude of unique olives marinating below is intimidating until someone behind the counter notices you drooling and offers you a taste. And your journey begins because now you are family until the moment you walk out the door vowing to return. How can't you.
My comment upon leaving to the owner? "You are a blessed man. Every one of these customers that comes to you will in 3 or 50 years tell someone else about this little deli in brooklyn .....this real Italian deli. They will never forget their time here and this will be the standard that no other deli will ever be able to achieve."

I have been going to Tino's for many years and the food, cheeses and cold cuts are fresher and fresher. Quality is the key to everything that they do. Be a hot plate of chicken marsala or a deli sandwich, you can feel the quality of all the foods that they make. A must place to visit if you are visiting Fordham University or the Little Italy of the Bronx. Good prices are also plus. Visit this place, you will not be sorry.
