One of those things - have heard about this /driven by this park many times through the years but never stopped. Didn't realize the expanse this park has to offer. After walking on a trail you forget you are in the Bronx. Spent a couple of hours here just wandering. Will return with bikes and seek out the bike trails.

I love van cortland Park, it’s very easy to get there by the 1# get off at the last stop, you can also walk from there to the Woodlawn Cemetery. You will sure love the park away from the busy touristic area and have a bit of some of the Bronx.

So close to the city. Take the #1 train straight there and then you are a walk away from the park. Walk or bike the trails. this is a wonderful day trip

Thank you but we can't take credit as the largest park. We are third in NYC. Pelham Bay is the largest NYC Park.

This park really has it all. It has soccer fields, baseball fields, a pool, barbecuing areas, picnic tables, a large track for running/walking/biking, a golf course, hand ball courts, tennis courts, horses, and of course lots and lots of trails! They have trails on, and off the beaten path and at times the trails are quite scenic-you might forget you're in the Bronx!

I absolutely love this park. I've been to this park many times over 10 years. The park has many parts to it. It has a public pool, a lake, picnic BBQ area and many walking trails. I recently went to the gorgeous soccer grass field with my boyfriend. We brought snacks and just sat and got some sun. It was very relaxing and you can tell the park working crew keeps the park clean and tidy. It was a pleasure just siting in a clean park with beautiful scenery.
