Owner description: This famous ballpark opened in 1923, and the home of the New York Yankees.

I'm not a sports fan, but a visit to the Yankees is something worth experiencing. Expensive, but the seats were good. I was lucky enough to see a Yankees v Boston Red Sox game, the ancient rivalry.
The atmosphere was great. No trouble - the huge numbers of police made sure of that.
My only criticism was that money seemed to be a prime concern. My tickets were over $100, and everywhere were places to separate you from your cash. Fries, ice-cold beer, the huge shop.

PS The Red Sox slaughtered the Yankees when I was there.

No matter how good or bad the team was going to Yankee Stadium was always a trip into the Yankee glory years. Now it's going to the mall. No character, no warmth. As a Yankee fan I am ashamed to admit that a trip to Fenway is much more fun

went on tour of the Stadium and then the game. I will let you judge the games - butt the tour was well worth it - got to see the Stadium, the NYY museum, the press box, Monument Park, it was great, well worth the 15-20 you will spend - and not just for NYY fans, any true baseball fan would love this.

We went on 2nd January 2014 and took the tour at 3pm.
The tour price was $25 per person, and lasted approximately an hour.

We were escorted by Julia, who was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering any questions the group had.
Coming from Scotland, baseball isn't our strong point so we obviously didn't know too much about the history of the Yankees.

The stadium itself is brilliant. We got to see Monument Park, the museum, the press box and on to the side of the pitch.
There are plenty of opportunities for photos and what great photos they are!

Definitely worth the money, and easy to get to by subway. The "4" goes straight to 161st street and Yankee Stadium is right beside the station so you can't miss it!

to non baseball fans , like us, it is hard to figure out what the hell is going on and we only realized the whole thing had ended because the stadium was emptying out!!!
Apart from which no one seemed particularly interested and I watched the audience clad entirely in yankee stripes eat relentlessly for almost 2 hours:
hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, huge tubs of pop, etc etc . Only fun bit was when the big screens projected images of individuals in the crowd (mostly sleeping!)
