We went specifically to see the Holiday Train Show. What a wonderful display! The artist started this over 20 years ago and now has 22 employees to build this annual display. There were buildings and bridges and facilities all around New York City that were replicated using all natural materials - leaves, nuts, seeds, wood, moss, etc. Running throughout the display were model trains. There was the old TWA building, City Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and so much more. It was a pleasant walk through the displays built into the flora and fauna of the conservatory. It took about an hour. There are no strollers allowed so if you bring the kiddies, be sure they can walk the display or you have a carrier. Parking was $12 on top of the $20 pp admission fee.

Located in the borough of the Bronx the New York Botanical garden is green oasis in the middle of the concrete and glass. If you go and are staying in Manhattan take the Metro North train from Grand Central Station. The cost is very reasonable and the train stops steps away from the main gate. Take the tram that goes around the entire grounds to get a feel for what you wish to see up close. Make sure you get to the main greenhouse where the bulk of the collection is housed. They normally have special exhibits to go along with the beautiful grounds. Buy the all inclusive ticket at the gate which gives you access to everything.

Great holiday train show. Natural resources for the details of key NYC building in a conservatory with model trains going around. I appreciated even finding a replica of an old colonial house in Brooklyn near where I grew up.
In addition, the Children's Garden had well planned activities for kids involving drawing, a scavenger hunt and using materials to outline a house.

Attended the opening of an Asian exhibit: flower arranging as well as an unbelievable drum concert. Also had the opportunity to go on the Children's Pumpkin Trail. It was both beautiful and creative

Every year this New York Holiday Institution get better and more impressive. This year a huge Macy's greets visitors at the beginning of the Show.
