Very well organized and managed. Christmas exhibit with trains is fantastic. Took our grandchildren when they were small and they had a blast in the "jungle"

“Great Sunday Afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

It's a great place for a lovely afternoon! Can get crowded at times but worth the subway ride!! It's a bit pricey but you can buy a season pass if you know you may go back again and bring friends.

“Free on Wednesdays!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

I went here in the fall during the Monet gardens exhibition, but nearer the end, so things were beginning to die. That being said, the grounds were still very impressive and huge. Walking nonstop quickly from one side to the other takes about half an hour. There is even a river running through it! It's free on Wednesdays.

“To Die For”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Gorgeous gardens, greenhouses and grounds. Very easy to get lost (figuratively) in the 250 acres and the 28 speciality gardens including a conservatory, children's adventure garden and a 40 acre old growth forest. It is one of the premier botanical gardens in the US. Take Metro North out of Grand Central Terminal (Harlem line-blue line) to the Botanical Gardens stop (about 20 mins) or drive on up. Don't forget to stop by the Bronx Zoo down the road. It's awesome. You might need 2 days for both.
