It was a great trip. we went there during the spring season. Everything were blooming. We had so much fun. If you're traveling with a child be prepared for stops and bring some food.

“A piece of heaven in the Bronx”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Tranquility is the key word. a botanist dream come true. Located directly across the street from Fordham University Campus. Accessible by public transportation. A short distance to Little Italy ( Arthur Ave. ) in the Bronx. Great time to visit would be in late spring.

“NY Botanical Garden - heaven in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

something for everyone: kids to the elderly. Very expensive, however - can you get a discount through any associations, etc.? Food in cafe is excellent and varied. Wilderness (really!) for a good hike, and of course the greenhouse and flowers. You could spend a day, or an hour, and combine with Arthur Avenue as well. i live here, so visit all seasons - always great, sun or snow!

“Holiday Train Show”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Visited December 8, 12 for the Holiday Train Show and Gingerbread Adventures. The train show was very nice. It was crowded but I found the crowds to be managed well. They only let a number of people in only when people exit to avoid too many at once looking at the trains. I recommend taking the time to see the 30 min movie on the making of the train show. I was impressed! Gingerbread Adventure was a disappointment. There were only 3 ginderbread houses on display. The Botanical Garden is on 250 acres, I plan to return during summer or fall. I'm sure the grounds would be gorgeous!
