Last Tuesday ate dinner at Fazool's Italian Kitchen. Learned about this restaurant from an ad within our campground's directory (Hickory Ridge Campgrount) of nearby sites, restaurants, etc. What a surprise!!! Arrived at 5:30 and our server graciously extended the early bird menu to our group (early bird menu ended at 5:30). We were seated outside on a warm evening (unbrella covered tables) with the Erie Canal in full view and within steps to a bricked walkway along the canal. The early bird menu was small but ample and varied from Italian choices to pork chops. I ordered Chicken French which came with soup or salad Italian bread served with linguini or pasta on the side. While waiting for dinner the canal bridge lifted to allow a large boat to pass through; people were biking and strolling along a the canal but far enough away as to not be a disturbance. There was a wonderful musician playing 'Jimmy Buffet' style music.....felt as if I was back in the Florida Keys....superb atmosphere. The salad was fresh with a nice variety of vegetables, The Chicken French was very tasty; served over linguini......more than one could eat in one sitting.......actually had it for dinner the next evening. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. An added note for anyone who is a Pittsburgh Steeler fan (which I am), discovered this is Steeler headquarters!!!! every Sunday during the season, one can watch the Steelers play on a large screen TV!!! What a great surprise!!!!
