“Great Lunch almost every time”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We chose Bobby Van's for at least 50% of our business lunches. The service is always great, there's something on the menu for everyone and the chocolate fondant is "to die for." Sadly when i brought my parents on a weekend, the food was abysmal - no one had a good meal. so my suggestion is go on weekdays only.

“When in Rome...”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Prices are a little high but considering the area I guess they were in reason..
Client had the PEI mussels and I had the lobster roll sandwich. I have had better in New England but the service was good and the atmosphere was comfortable.

Place to be in the Hamptons, but other options out there..

“Ate here twice and could write two different reviews!”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We ate here twice in August, 2013. Both times, we ordered from the price fixed menu. The first time a couple of us ordered the steak, which was mediocre. The second time, the steaks were great. I ordered a caesar salad both times, the first time it was not that great, the second time, very good. The second time I had the meatloaf which was very good.

Service...the first time was outstanding. The second time, very slow. Both times, except for one person, the steaks were not cooked as ordered. Twice two were ordered medium rare and both came out medium well to well done. It is pricey, but this is the Hampton's, and to be expected.

One other thing, the seats are very uncomfortable! They are hard and narrow. Anyone who is the least bit larger than normal has a very tight fit.

On both occasions, there were one or more items they were out of, and, this was right around 6 PM.

“Energetic vibe”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Six of us had dinner there last week! Had a wonderful table--1/2 inside, 1/2 outside. It is a very energetic Hampton's restaurant with great food and wine! One of us had the grilled calamari salad as an app--fabulous! Best entrée was the Asian Scampi made with huge prawns--absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

“saved by the fluke!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

The worst week i've had in years finally comes to an end and The Lovely and i wind up at BVs for dinner. Sat outside which was very pleasant except for the occasional fire engine or ambulance whizzing by with the latest victim of local dui. Anyway, I order a whiskey on the rocks with a twist. (The Lovely drinks her stuff neat so she never has a problem) and my drink comes with enough rocks (mostly melted) so that i thought it was white wine. weak white wine. so i whine. and get a replacement, whiskey with ice on the side. Lesson #1, when ordering whiskey from wimpy bar tenders, they think a lotta ice is macho. So ice on the side, and made myself a decent drink. And then came the whole fluke, gently broiled, perfectly cooked, probably was swimming along less than an hour ago. Totally the best!! Redeemed the entire night. We will be back!
