“A Country Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

My wife and I dined on July 4th and The Arch turned out to be the perfect place to celebrate our Nation's Birthday. The ambience and table settings are elegant. There was a reasonably extensive wine list and we had a very full-bodied St Emilion. Everything on the menu that we sampled - scallops, baby chicken, soft-shelled crabs and Grand Marnier souffle - was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The waiter was most attentive without being intrusive. A most enjoyable experience.

“Old friends reunite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

From Simsbury Ct, West Nyack NY &Highland Mills NY we gathered for a delightful evening .We sat for four hours with impeccable service. Never hurried. All six appetizers and entrees were prepared to perfection. From the cheese soufflé appetizer to the Grand Marnier soufflé dessert. They even went out of their way to combine two of the main dishes as one patron could not decide. It was a truly tasteful evening

“Still Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

The Arch has been a go-to restaurant for special occasions in our family ever since it moved to its current location in a beautiful old house just off Rte. 22. I know it has a lovely outdoor space, among the gorgeous flowering shrubs, and we would have dined there last weekend if it weren't for a torrential thunderstorm which hit the area just as we left home. But there is nothing wrong with eating INSIDE either! The restaurant consists of several comfortable rooms in this old house, each with its own charm. We ate in what I would call the "main" room, which has a lovely fireplace, beautiful decor, a view of the comprehensive wine supply and comfortable chairs, allowing for a long, leisurely dinner with friends. We spent more than 2 hours chatting and dining, and never once felt rushed. The staff is ever-attentive and available if you need them, but they let you set the pace for your meal. In fact, there were 3 different large parties in other rooms, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries; they were there when we arrived at seven p.m. and still there, taking pictures and drinking wine, when we left at 9:50.
Two of our party had the duckling (an entire half of duck); one had the calves liver with apple slices, bacon and frizzled onions; and one had the barumundi (a South Pacific bass), which he pronounced probably the best fish he's ever eaten in a restaurant.
The owner, chef Seitz came around and greeted all of the patrons, a nice touch which is unfortunately very rare, even in upscale establishments.
Yes, this is a "pricey" place, but well worth it for the quality of the food, the attentive service, the ambiance and the generously spaced tables (no listening in to your neighbors' conversations at this restaurant!)

“Fabulous French Fare for Father's Day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

This is a wonderful place. The craftsman style house from 1915 is lovely, the patio and grounds are pretty and the rooms are very, very nice, filled with antique torchieres, buffets, etc. The staff is helpful and personable. And the food...well the food is just delicious. Big portions too. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! You will be delighted.

“Outdoor dining on a perfect night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014

The reviews of this restaurant are right on...terrific service (attentive and not overbearing)...the patio is a wonderful quiet place to dine....staff exudes professional attitude with friendly answers fo all questions..my wife had the soft shell crab and declared it outstanding...I had the filet of sole and also considered it to be wonderful....not an inexpensive evening, but a special night nonetheless....
