“A Great Weekend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

My wife and I visited The Sagamore for a family reunion and we couldn't be more pleased! The rooms were comfortable and the grounds were fantastic. We were able to hangout by the pool, go swimming in the lake and even roast marshmallows at night. The staff was attentive and professional, with a real eye towards making the entire experience memorable. The boat tour was a highlight, can't really beat afternoon cocktails on an old-timey boat in the middle of the lake. A top notch hotel on the shores of Lake George!

We recently visited the Sagamore for a large family gathering. It was an absolutely beautiful location with stunning views. The rooms were huge and it was gorgeous to wake up to the sun rising over Lake George. The food for lunch and dinner was delicious. We also spent some time by the pool (which really feels like you are in an island paradise - a pool with views of the lake) and on the Sagamore's boat the Morgan. There is a nice jog or walk into Bolton Landing and you can rent kayaks or canoes on the island to explore the area! The Sagamore is a perfect place any season - one of my favorite memories is having tea with my aunt on the veranada while we watched an enormous snow storm move across the lake.

Our family has always loved the Sagamore and it is an amazing place for family gatherings or individuals retreats.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the lakeside to wake up to a beautiful sunrise.

This place is amazing!!! This hotel is by far the best resort in the northeast, the rooms are all newly renovated and impeccably clean. The staff is beyond exceptional, there is some one at every turn ready to bend over backwards to make your stay memorable. We took the lunch cruise on the Morgan and were blown away by the beauty of the lake and the professionalism and knowledge of the crew. The food in every restaurant was so delicious, you must try the Club Grill for an out of the world experience! Bill in Caldwell's was great and remembered our names and what we were drinking every time we went to see him. This stay was out of this world. Thank you to all the staff that made it such a great time!

Room Tip: Get a lake view- it is worth every penny more!!!!

I have stayed here several times and it is absolutely beautiful! The views of the lake are unbeatable, the staff is gracious and attentive, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Our most recent stay did not disappoint, I left feeling happy, rejuvenated, and refreshed. A wonderful place that I will certainly be returning to!

My hubby and I enjoyed 5 relaxing days in October of 2012 for an anniversary. It was chilly and cloudy but we had a great time! We acted like old folks playing croquet and horseshoes...but laughed like we were kids. The leaves were just beginning to turn so there was lots of color. We had the most amazing room because it opened up on this HUGE balcony with an incredible view. We spent hours out there dining (love room service!), reading, holding hands, and making plans.
One afternoon we took the boat tour and thoroughly loved it. I also had a massage in the Spa one afternoon. The food was excellent, service was great, and the hotel was just beautiful. We loved our trip!

Room Tip: Ask for the room that opens up to the large balcony!!!

Dear SCPegleg,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay in October. The best part of the Adirondacks is that each season is distinct from the other, and the fall with the color on the mountainside is spectacular. I was happy to see that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for choosing us! We look forward to your return.

From the moment we arrived our experience was A+ outstanding! The valet service, front desk staff, bellhop and room service personnel were professional, helpful, pleasant and always available. This was my first visit to the Sagamore Resort and first time seeing Lake George - the view from our beautiful suite was breathtaking as are the entire hotel and grounds. We had a good lunch at the Lakehouse right on the water which had a great cocktail menu, really yummy frozen drinks and good bites - nice to sit and linger over food and drink without feeling rushed. We then took our drinks and walked the docks and grounds to finally settle in a nice chaise lounge on the beach by the water & watch the kids fish and boats go by and soak up some sun, so relaxing. Saturday night we enjoyed more food and drink at the bar at Mr. Brown's - another positive experience with an attentive bartender, ice cold beer and good food. Nice to be surrounded by families with young kids who seemed comfortable and happy as well as guests at a lake-side wedding the same night - a good mix of people enjoying their own thing, it all works at the Sagamore (side note, the wedding reception was just below our windows and we were never disturbed by any noise - impressive!). Sunday we spent several hours by the amazing pool looking out on the lake - impressive how many separate areas there are to sun & fun - between the terraced levels by the pools, the different dock areas & the beach you can be as private as you like and pick your own outdoor experience. The fitness center, again with views of the lake, is well equipped and impressive - the hallway from the main hotel to the fitness and pool area has great photos and history of the the Sagamore, loved reading about it! Breakfast & lunch were great at Caldwell's - yummy pastries & coffee brought outside to eat in the Adirondack chairs as you admire the lake in the a.m. and then a great pizza and drinks in the same spot after pool time. Fantastic weather added to a most outstanding couple of days - we will be back and we will cherish this wonderful getaway that actually made me feel renewed for the first time in a long time, hard to leave on Sunday.

We have been coming here for years. Had not been in several years and was quite pleased with all the improvements to the grounds. The rooms are still very nicely appointed clean and comfortable. But as they say, location is everything and it is hard to beat this location on the west shore of Lake George. The view is one of natural beauty. The place is packed during the Saratoga racing season, late July through Labor Day, so I suggest you try it early summer or late spring when rates and occupancy are lower. The foliage season is also quite nice but busier and higher rates.
