“Very Disappointed for the 2nd time”
Reviewed June 1, 2009

We went to the Algonquin this past Saturday and were given a seat outside on the deck. Beautiful location with a great view of the Lake. The issue was no one would wait on us. There were 5 waitresses that passed by our table several times. Every table around us had drinks and food. Two tables that were sat after us were waited on. The waitress that appeared to be ours, as she waited on the 3 tables around us, took 2nd drink orders from those 3 tables, skipping us completely, she looked at us and the menus on the table several times, and walked by. We tried to talk to her and get her attention, and we were ignored. After 15 minutes we got up and left. We were prepared to order drinks and lunch. The first time I ate at this restaurant the food was really good, however the service was not. The waitress was rude and didn't pay attention. She did however take our food order and brought it to us hot. If you want return customers and people to recommend your restaurant you need to have good customer service, it is as important as having really good food.

“Decent restaurant with very nice lake view”
Reviewed December 28, 2008

I summer in Bolton Landing and have eaten here off and on over the years. The food quality and service quality has been very inconsistent. The last few meals I have had there (2007 and 2008) had been much better than in previous years. It is fun to watch the boats come and go at the dock and see the activity. The restaurant is south of the main part of Bolton so you will likely drive or boat to the restaurant. I gave it 3 stars because overall that is really what the restaurant is worth - but if you compare it to other restaurants in and around Lake George it is probably a 4

“Don't Waste Your Money”
Reviewed August 22, 2008

One of the problems with Lake George is finding a decent place to eat. The Algonquin is mediocre at best and way overpriced. The owners are about 20 years behind the times with the menu. A family would be better off barbequeing.

If you really want a good meal go to Saratoga. Several NYC quality restaurants.

“Lakeside setting”
Reviewed August 19, 2008

This restaurant overlooks the lake so you can watch people come and go on their boats. There is also a boat hire place next to it if you're feeling adventurous after lunch. The food is good "pub grub" - chicken wings, club sandwiches, pizza etc but excellent quality and good service. There is a large outside eating area but it gets very busy. Recommended.
