“Great winter getaway, best of the best”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Each year we take a mid winter mini vacation to someplace cold and snowy. This year we went with some very dear friends who live in another state. The boathouse bed and breakfast maybe the nicest b+ b that we have ever stayed in. The place is absolutly wonderful. We were the first guests of the new year but there was no rust with the staff from the layoff. The lake was frozen and absolutly beautiful. Bolton landing restaurants were very good as was the ares around lake george village. We visited lake placid which was a little over an hour away and loved it and watched the fireworks over lake george in the village. Talk about Norman Rockwell. Back to the boat house, everything was perfect. patti, Joe and Renee' could not have been nicer. Breakfast was excelent. Get a lake front room. What a way to wake up. Great place, great people and a great vacation. We want to go back in the summer

Room Tip: Get a lake view room

Just got back from a weekend at The Boathouse...it was superb! It was a fall 'girls' getaway with my dear friend, and it was exactly what we hoped for. The accommodations were perfect...comfortable bed, roomy suite, relaxing jacuzzi tub, and peaceful, beautiful scenery. The breakfasts were scrumptious! Highly recommended!

The "fourth" time is a charm. My FIANCE and I usually take a trip up to the Boathouse early Spring, as we did this year. So it was to my surprise when my, now Fiance, suggested we take another trip up in late June. Our first night there, after getting ready for dinner, I met my fiance out on the dock of the Boathouse. Before I knew it, he was down on his knee asking my to marry him! I always imagined he would pop the question at the Boathouse because it is our perfect, happy place. Patti and Joe have become family. We were thrilled to celebrate this milestone with them. They helped make this moment so very special. This time we had the opportunity to go out on "Miss Boathouse", Joe's BEAUTIFUL custom made Hacker Craft Sport motorboat. Joe will take guests out for a magnificent ride and guided tour of Lake George. His knowledge of Lake George, past and present, is second to none. At The Boathouse Bed and Breakfast you will find beauty, romance, outstanding food, family and sheer perfection. We will without a doubt, continue our annual trip to The Boathouse for many years to come.

We stopped here for one night upon recommendations from trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Nothing better then sitting out on the porch which is right on the Lake, just beautiful. I would have given this five stars but it seemed a little pricey for our small room with the bathroom although private being across the hall. I might return here and ask for a different room.

The Boathouse is a lovely and quaint B&B. However, due to the nature of the building it is rather small. The room we stayed in with a queen sized bed was so small it was difficult for two people to enjoy the room.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful but not the owner. There was some confusion regarding our reservation and his confrontational attitude didn't endear him to us. He would be better off to let his staff creak with his guests.
The breakfasts were good but not outstanding if this is an important meal for you.

Room Tip: Rooms are very small due tithe nature of the building.

We visited the Boathouse B&B for two nights 9/12-9/14 to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We did a lot of research on where to stay as it was not a familiar area and we wanted to find a very special place to celebrate. We certainly found that place at the Boathouse! From the time we arrived Joe, Patti & Renee did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed in Mason’s Adirondack Suite which was absolutely beautiful and had all the little touches you would find at the finest hotels. There was even a wonderful dvd playing with beautiful views of the Lake George area. I wish I had looked into where I could purchase the dvd locally as it was extremely relaxing. The views were beautiful and the atmosphere very relaxing. I’ve attached many pictures of the suite and the views to give an idea of how nice it is, although the pictures do not do it justice.
Breakfasts were very tasty and having a group breakfast with all of the guests was fun and made for interesting conversation. We gained insight from others on the area and just enjoyed talking and making new friends. The balcony and the docks were so peaceful to just sit, relax, have a glass of wine or whatever. The town as well as the Sagamore Hotel was within walking distance. One night we went to the Sagamore and the next to the town of Bolton’s Landing for dinner. Both were very good meals.
We did the boat ride with Joe and it was a great trip. He is so knowledgeable about the Lake George area and took us on a relaxing journey around many of the Lake George islands. It was just the two of us with Joe that day, but we felt it was well worth the cost.
We look forward to visiting the Boathouse again and thank you to Joe, Patti and Renee for a wonderful 25th anniversary trip. Don & Peggy.
