“FELT LIKE HOME! AMAZING PLACE AND PEOPLE!”
Reviewed April 29, 2012

My wife surprised me for my bday and planned a trip for us and our 2 friends to stay here this past weekend. What a great experience, from the rooms, the view, to the service and the owners, just a lovely place! We were greeted as we got out of our vehicle right away by Joe in the driveway, what a nice guy! This place has a great history behind it as well, and Joe can tell you all of it! The view was gorgeous, the Reis Suite we stayed in the main house was awesome, and this place was so clean and the decor was pristine. Patty and her staff cook a different gourmet breakfast every morning that was always delicious! Our room was always perfect every day after Renae and the other girl were finished cleaning. There is a beautiful porch off the Great Room that was so nice, comfy chairs, beautiful almond colored wood floors. We hung out there late at night drinking wine on the porch and the lake was so quiet, such a peaceful place! Joe and Patty were always around to help you in any way and knew the town very well to point you to the right places to eat and hang out. We didn't get to take advantage of Joes boat tour because of time constraints and cold weather, but wish we could have it looked like fun! So much more to say about this place but you need to experience it for yourself. We will definitely revisit this place in the future and would recommend it to anyone going up that way. Just a wonderful experience all around, thank you Joe and Patty for a great weekend!

Room Tip: The Reis Suite was the best!

My fiancé and I are planning a wedding in Lake George and we spent a beautiful 2 nights and Joe and Patti's Boathouse bed and breakfast...not only was their bed and breakfast gorgeous on so many levels...from the inside decor...the gorgeous views of the lake...the delicious morning breakfasts...and their unbelievable hospitality and kind personalities...at the end of our trip I felt as though we made two new friends! I would highly recommend the boathouse to anyone who is looking for a very special and relaxing getaway...you will love every second of your time there!

We are once again home from our yearly anniversary visit to The Boathouse. As always, we weren't disappointed. The peace and serenity of Lake George are complimented by Patti and Joe's careful attention to their guests every need. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the lake view from our bedroom window is always an inspiring sight to wake up to and then there's the knowing that we are going to be eating one of Patti's delightfully unique and delicious breakfasts. If your going to be visiting Lake George, The Boathouse Bed and Breakfast is definitely the place to stay.

My boyfriend and I just arrived from our getaway weekend to Lake George and we are still smiling from the complete hospitality of Joe and Patti, how beautiful the BoatHouse is, and the amazing views from both the property and the surrounding areas. Neither one of us had ever been to Lake George before and thought that it would be perfect to visit during the off season for the first time and be able to experience it before the droves of people and tourists during the summer. Having done it we are now ready to visit any time of the year, it is so picturesque, and the town of Bolton Landing is just a great, quaint little town. The people are friendly and the Marketplace Steakhouse restaurant made our stay all that much better. We recommend the Boathouse as the place to stay when you visit Lake George, there's just so much history in the home, and it is also warm and inviting thanks to Joe and Patti, their great stories, recommendations, and don't even get me started on the delicious breakfasts :) We stayed in Maddy's Room, can't wait to go back and try the rest.......

Room Tip: A suite gets you a little more room and a bigger bed, but they are all lovely and Maddy's room h...

Just got back from a nice weekend at the Boathouse B&B and my wife and I loved it. We arrived pretty late Friday nite, and to our pleasant surprise a welcome letter was there telling us to make ourselves comfortable in the Reis Suite, which they upgraded us to free of charge. Very comfortable and spacious room with a private enclosed porch and private ensuite bathroom. Woke up the next morning to a beautiful view and realized our room was directly above the Lake! The breakfast was outstanding and we really enjoyed meeting Ronnie and Pattie, our gracious hosts who made us feel most welcome. we then rushed off to a prebooked massage at Massageworks (30 min away) which was also awesome. Went to Lake Placid for the day, and came back for a nightcap and snack at Frederics which is 200yds away from the boathouse. Enjoyed our last night and the next mornings breakfast was equally enjoyable. Very nice to meet the other people there in the family style dining as well. Very highly recommended!

I recently stayed at the Boathouse Bed & Breakfast again....and again, I left happy and rejuvenated. I have been visiting the Boathouse for several years, and each time I go there, I am in awe of the accommodations, the views, and most especially Patti and Joe's warmth and attention to every little detail. There are not many places that find their way into your heart, but this one does....I am already planning my next visit!

Pros
The boathouse itself is beautiful and the hosts are friendly. Breakfast each morning is delicious (made by the Mrs) and the common space and porch are beautiful. The location is great, allowing guests a five minute walk to the Sagamore (where you can use their fitness facilities!) or five minutes in the other direction to the main road of Bolton Landing with its shops and restaurants.

Cons
The room you choose truly defines your stay. Unfortunately, I stayed in one of the two smallest rooms (Allayla) with a bathroom that was across the hall... sure it's private, but it's not ensuite and I wish that had been clear on the website. The room itself was clean but quite small. What's more... the walls between the rooms are paper thin. I heard every conversation, every cough... not exactly the rest and relaxation I had hoped for. Sadly, we paid $200+/night... shell out for the larger rooms (which look lovely) or stay somewhere else.

We find ourselves rarely thanking our travelers for their comments and suggestions for other Trip Advisor travelers to review. Let us take this time to do just that. We appreciate our guests and we feel that without them the Boathouse Bed and Breakfast would not be such a success. We have met many wonderful guests over the years and we hope when you leave that you felt like you had just visited your friends or family.

We would like to address the cons that this traveler has commented on. The Allayla room is a standard size room. The walls are thick, made of lathe and plaster and are as sound proof as we can make them. The Allayla Room’s bath is right outside of the room literally within an arm’s reach. It was the original master bath of the house when this home was built in 1912. The bath is private and quite spacious and well stocked with amenities as well as our rooms are-We hope to think that if you forgot something traveling it is there for you and more often than not it is something that you would have never thought we would have provided being a small inn. The home is unique and our hope is that you feel the price was worth the amount paid by all we offer you and not just based on the room chosen. We have priced the rooms by size and view to accommodate all budgets
.
We hope that this traveler will come and visit us again. If you were not completely satisfied with the Allayla Room hopefully next time another room or suite will be much more to your liking.
