Spent an entire day touring this wonderful museum. Something for everyone to see and learn about the history of the Adirondacks. Would recommend this for families as well.

Great museum with exhibits for all ages-logging, great camps, trains, and the gilded age of Americans on vacation.

I have traveled across the country and Europe. This is one of the best museums I have every visited. The electronic narrated museum tour was fantastic - a great amount of information without straying into the minutiae. Lots of interactive exhibits - use of iPads, the ability to climb on trains, touch animal pelts, etc. The size is impressive - 20+ acres. The location is dynamite - on the side of Blue Mountain overlooking Blue Lake. We visited for three hours and did not see all the exhibits. I will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

Reasonable admission charge. There are several buildings within the campus so there is quite a bit of interesting history to take in, so plan to spend several hours. The food in the cafe was surprisingly very good.
