We went to this museum on a Sunday afternoon in downtown Binghamton. Not knowing what to expect; we were extremely pleased with this tour. The guide is not only knowledgeable about the mansion; but the area as well. He gave us a history lesson on the area and how it pertained to the mansion. There were old photos of the mansion and the area when it first started to become developed and grow in population. He tied personal stories of the residents and their releationships to each other and the growth of the town. It was very interesting and entertaining. The furnishings in the house were both original and replicas of the time period. The inside was beautiful and a pleasure to view. The tour took about 45 minutes and cost $5 per person. Also, the mansion is reported to be haunted and has been visited by several physics....hmmmm. Well worth the money. There are stairs to climb to enter the mansion and more stairs to view the upstairs living quarters if this is a concern. Parking is very accessible on the grounds and its free.
