“Looks are Certainly Deceiving”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

We had heard about this place for a great dinner but after driving by on several occasions, we decided this may not be the place for us. So we were celebrating an anniversary tonite and decided to stop in. We were greeted by the chef outside. Tonite was a quiet night so we were the only ones in the dining room. The other nights we stopped, it was very crowded. But we had been told that go to the back in the dining room, as it may not be as busy as it looks from the front bar area. The menu changes every few days or so as told to us by Chef Jim. We have to go to the bar to get our own drinks. Jim is the only server as well as the chef extraordinaire. If you want burgers, he has a separate bar menu. We had a delicious salad of greens variety, sliced apples, candied nuts, cheddar cheese with a lovely balsamic dressing. Spouse had chicken parmesan (he states the best he has had in a long time!) and I had pork tenderloin on perfectly cooked haricots verts, cooked spinach, topped with butternut squash stuffing and a nice brown gravy. Delish! For dessert we had Italian rice pudding with fresh strawberries. The rice pudding was "Italian" because it was made with mascarpone cheese. It was a delightful dinner, a pleasant surprise but the looks of the outside of the building, please do venture in and have a first class dining experience. CASH ONLY should you go.

“Delicious Food - Unlikely Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

The food here is fantastic. I have been to Sach's a few times now to eat and it has yet to disappoint. The preparation of the food is very well executed and is always really delicious. I would recommend calling ahead to let them know you are coming, the chef appreciates the advanced notice and will reserve a table for your party. Also, it is important to note that the chef is also the sous chef, waiter, bus boy, dishwasher, etc. It is a one man show, but he does a wonderful job and it is clearly a labor of love that inspires his work. The bar itself is pretty much one of the most lack-luster establishments I've been to, but it is kind of a quirky experience eating such tasty creations in a place that has clearly been strictly the neighborhood watering hole for sometime. One more thing to mention is that the booze is bottom shelf and you have to go to the bar to get your beverages, no big deal. Also, cash only.

“Diamond in the rough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

This place is definitely off the beaten path but this bar/restaurant has some great food coming out of the kitchen. Get your drinks at the bar (which are very resonable) and food comes out of the kitchen w/the chef, waiter & hostess... he does it all! The chef's meals are all planned and made fresh everyday!

“Awesome Food!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012 via mobile

The presentation and food here is awesome! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere. If you want to dress up for a romantic candle lit evening...go to Number 5. If you are looking for food that blows away Number 5, in a very causal setting with cheap drinks, this is your spot! It's really all about the food, in this hidden Binghamton treasure. Once you go you will surely come back. The cook is the waiter, bus boy and cashier, yeah that's right it's a one man show. The cook will cook your food, bring it out to you and bus your table...oh yeah and you pay him as well, remember cash only here. You do need to get your own drinks at the bar, come on he can't do everything! The cook is amazing, once you eat here you will see the passion he has for impressing people through food. He will customize a menu that lasts about two days, when he is out of an item he is out. Every two days, or when ever he is out of items, he will make a totally new menu, so you never know what's going to be on the menu when you arrive and it's always fresh. This adds a unique level of suspense as you will be eager to discover what his next creation will be. Sach's Tee House is truly Binghamton's diamond in the rough, check it out and write your own review!

“Wow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2012

Not much atmosphere, but the meals are fantastic. There are only so many of each entree so get there early if you want to have a choice. Don't be in a hurry because it's pretty much a one man show. He takes your order, cooks your meal and serves it as well. We've had as many as eight in our party and everything comes out within minutes of each other and cooked to perfection. Presentation is great as well. Get your own drinks from the bar, but you can't beat it. Parking can be iffy.
