“Wait for Doubletree”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We were told this property was going to be converted to a Doubletree within the next few months. The lobby looks fine, but the rooms reflect years of neglect. No microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. There was a coffee maker, but it had seen better days. The complimentary continental breakfast was bare bones and paled in comparison to what other hotels are offering. The staff was very nice and made every effort to be helpful. Would be hesitant to stay at this property again until it is completely renovated.

Stayed on a Friday night so that we could enjoy a night out in downtown. Band was playing downstairs - pretty loud. Could hear it in our room on the 4th floor. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel is in process of being renovated. Room was worn down but it was clean. Air conditioning unit was pretty noisy though. Would stay there again. Decent room for the price and the convenience of its location.

From the time I walked into this hotel until the time I left, staff were readily available and tremendously helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, there was WiFi and premium TV channels, the restaurant was delicious, the pool and spa were welcoming and clean, and the banquet room was elegant. The General Manager offered a personal welcome and freindly smile, as did all of the other employees I encountered. The chef even has delectable muffins that he is perfecting! I look forward to my next stay here!

Excellent hotel, close to down-town restaurants.

They have their own gym and pool (which are beautiful, modern and clean).

Josh (front desk) is especially helpful. Patty is wonderful too.

Try their restaurant and bar. Excellent beer and the vegetarian selections rival NYC.

Room Tip: Take a higher floor with a river view

The hotel itself was "ok". I kept noticing a musty smell throughout. The room I was in was adequate but the bathtub and sink drained really slowly. I was standing in 2 inches of water by the time I'd finish my shower. Though I was entitled to the continental breakfast I chose to order in their dining area. Service wasn't that great. When I asked about a menu item because what was writing in my room guest menu and what was on the table menu were different, the waitress just pointed to the page and said that what was written was all there was. She never came back after bringing my meal to ask if everything was ok. The eggs Benedict I ordered were less than impressive, very bare bones and small. Perhaps I would have fared better taking the Continental breakfast. One thing I did really like was the access to the great gym facilities next door. This great gym is accessible to overnight guests. I enjoyed a great workout in a facility that was well maintained with many machines, free weights, clean.

We stayed for 1 night while passing by...The rooms were worn...carpet was used, the rooms were average and typical. The overhaul feel of the whole facility is catered more towards conventions and business stays rather than holidays...we arrived late, were tired and it was convenient. It was clean, the staff was friendly and to be objective, they were mentionning that a major renov was in the works. the location was good for us, close to a few restaurants and bars...The pool was nice but the jacuzzi was closed for the evening and we couldn't figure why.
The rooms were poor in the soundproofing category. Sure enough, we were lodged beside a loud mouth exec type guest who made certain that everyone knew he was awake in the evening and then again early in the morning...finally it didn't faze us much, we went to bed late and left early the next morning..

Room Tip: stay away from joining rooms, we had one ( not shared ) and it was very noisy from the other room...

We stayed at this hotel a couple weeks ago for a friends wedding and everyone was extremely satisfied with the accomodations. The main areas of the hotel are beautiful, and we loved the fitness club. The front desk staff of Josh and Scott were very friendly and efficient even though it was very busy when we checked in. The bar was great. The rooms are definitely in need of updating, but we see that it is a work in progress. We look forward to seeing the results. Overall, a very courteous and professional staff and we had a great time at the wedding in the beautiful ballroom.
