The room was a little smaller than I thought, but clean. People were very friendly. It was quiet, but near fun things to do. The person who runs the hotel was very helpful and worked with us to find things to do. There is phone service, butit was a little spotty.

My husband and I have stayed at the Starlite multiple times over the past three years. it simple charming efficiency style motel off Route 28 in Big Indian. The owner Michelle is a lovely person who really cares about the comfort and convenience of her guests. there are plenty of litlte touches to make your stay personal (giant marshallows to roast are left in your room for instance) The rooms are spotless, the beds large and comfortable with memory foam toppers. if you need something (or think you don't have it) Michelle will do here best to get it for you. The place is dog friendly and a great place to bring the kids. Bellayre Ski Mountian is right up the hill and the Pine Hill "beach" is a minute and a half away, for swimming and other recreation. We only have good things to say about Michelle and her hotel. She does her best to keep things nice and comfortable for all her guests, first time and repeat. We feel like a member of her family now.

My boyfriend and I recently took a trip to the Catskills, and we also wanted to bring our two doggies. It's really hard to find a good pet friendly affordable place, but the Starlite Motel was perfect!! The location in Big Indian is great, and our efficiency room was really cute. We liked the option of being able to cook there and stay in. The outdoor space is lit up at night and there are many picnic tables to use. The owner Michelle is also really sweet and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!!

Leah, glad you, your boyfriend, and your pups had a great time with us up in the Catskills. It makes me happy you were able to do some home cooking and enjoy the outdoor space! Whenever you want to come up again, we'll be eager to have you!

Best,
Michelle

Room fine, kitchen clean but in need of updating, one ring of the (30 year old?) stove was not working. Overall it was reasonable value for a mid week stay in the off season. Owner very helpful during a difficult family time and lent us a set of with trail maps for the whole area.

The rooms are clean, bathroom has been updated. Arrived after 8 and there was a note on the door with our name and what unit we were in. Key was in the door lock. It's a motel that has been around for years. Reasonable priced, to stay in the area for a couple of nights. Some possible improvements: first impression of coming into the office was it could use a good cleaning and de-cluttering. The lights in the overhang in front of the units could be cleaned out of all the dead bugs, the door locks look like they could be improved on. Basket with breakfast offerings goes with the quaintness of the motel. How long some of the items have been in there?? Owner very nice. Brought over a bag of marsh mellows and skewers and invited us to join the group later on, around the outdoor fire pit out back.

Pleasantly surprised. Our room had 2 beds, 1 soft and 1 firm which was perfect for us! New paint and appliances and nice amenities out back with weber grill, picnic table and screened in porch. Great for a group and was quiet when folks were out back with a fire. Thanks!!!

A lot of charm in a lovely area. It is a bit run down and could use some updating, but overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff is very welcoming, with welcome baskets in each room, kitchens stocked with plates/utensils and free wifi. So happy that I checked in with TripAdvisor to find this place.
