If you want to learn the history about Woodstock this is the place for you. I would say to come in the spring or fall as the summer months (June to September) is the busy season. They have lots of cool little movie clips and information.

Never realized a lot of things from who was there and location etc. We went on Wednesday and its October so it was not crowded so you could take your time reading and watching the movie clips. It was history that you heard about but really didn't really dig deep on learning. Worth the cost of admission of $15.00. It was a cold day and everything is closed on the outside because of the season. But drive down the road to see the marker and the field that where the stage was set up.

This was my second trip to Bethel Woods. Both times I went was to see John Waite perform .The venue is breathtaking .The staff is very friendly and helpful
The museum of the history of Woodstock is Amazing . The atmosphere there is surreal .Just knowing all the legends that performed there in 69 is unreal .
I would recommend anyone wanting a peaceful trip go to Bethel Woods.

I'm so glad I won the tickets to this event. I would have hated spending $45 for admission. Sure you received a sampling glass but the lines were ridiculously long to get samples and way crowded. Couldn't even get a buzz. The craft part was lacking enough vendors. The Spin Doctors were great! Did try some fantastic samples but definitely not worth the price of admission.

Stopped by here on the way to Cooperstown as an afterthought and was not disappointed. As a Baby Boomer, I related to the music and the history. The museum had many interesting exhibits and videos of the event that included testimonials of some of those who attended. The historical site itself is fascinating; hard to believe that 450,000 people attended. If you are ever in the area, check it out.

Great to relive days gone by with fun, lively, educational exhibits at the Museum. It is dedicated to keeping the memory of the '60's alive and, in particular, its climactic event, Woodstock. All the background you ever wanted to know about the greatest musical gathering ever - plus the memorabilia, fashions, politics and life, in general, that made it all happen. Walk the hallowed grounds and catch special exhibits, as well. Saw a great special exhibit about the early works of Peter Max. Gotta visit!

First time I visited Bethel Woods was with a friend from FL and we did the self-guided tour of the museum and grounds. We're Baby Boomers so the music alone was a trip down memory lane. It's a VERY interactive museum (big points for THAT!) so we donned headphones to listen to bio's of musicians and what they performed during the Festival. We were singing along, laughing, and having the time of our lives when a gentleman tapped us on our shoulders and asked if we were having fun. In answer to our enthusiastic "yes" he replied, "Good! Seeing you enjoy our museum is our goal." Turned out he was the Director and we chatted for a while. **Check the website before you go if you're planning a visit in late fall or winter b/c they close for the season.**

Wow, what a wonderful museum. Way better than I would have expected, and nice tie to the entire 1960's mood of the country. Also, our tour guide was actually at Woodstock '69, which was the cherry on top. A nice man from Rhode Island.

If you missed the 1969 show it's still not too late to see where history was made. We were lucky to have arrived on our motorcycles on an absolutely beautiful day. The parking lot is nice with porta potties. We walked up to the museum & store. Very nice grounds to stroll around to see the various artworks & historic site markers. They should have had live music streaming to add to the ambiance. We walked the fields on a dry day & our feet got wet. If only we could travel back in time.❤️
