“Were you at Woodstock?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

If you were there (really were, that is) the Museum at Bethel Woods is a fantastic trip down memory lane. If you weren't and wonder what the "Woodstock myth" is all about, the Museum will answer your question in spades. The installation is amazing, beautifully done, with lots of memorabilia, interactive displays, videos and movies, all hosted by an incredibly knowledgeable staff. The venue itself is well designed, the rural setting bucolic, the grounds lovely, and the restaurant prepares tasty food. On the original site of the actual Woodstock Music & Art Fair, the Museum is a fitting tribute to that much too brief moment in time when "peace, love & music" reigned supreme.

Peaceful and quiet, not at all like the festival. A very reflective place enjoy our trips often. We have a twice a year pilgrimage and Duke is there to tell you about anything Woodstock! He came and never went back!

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

While visiting the area for the weekend we drove to the Museum to check out the Woodstock exhibit. My wife and I enjoyed it, and was the highlight to the weekend. Provided a perspective of the event from attendees, residents and musicians. The movie was pretty intense. Being a tad too young to have remembered in person, the exhibit was very informative. The contrast of hi-tech interactive displays and memoriablia was well done. Might also be interesting for 20-somethings that seem to have an interest in music from this era, and musicians like Jimi Hendrix etc.

“Overpriced, should be free”

Expensive with very little to see... almost like someones private collection. Love seeing concerts next door, but this is just a tourist rip-off.

“Memories of a Certain Age”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

This is the site of the original Woodstock Music Festival. Lots of memories.

The Museum is a pleasure to walk through. Lots of History. Of course when you exit you are in the gift shop and the prices are a bit high but isn't that the way of the world.

They change the exhibit now and again so even if you have been there you could go again--call.

Bethel Woods also has great concerts during the summer. NY Phil, country stars, etc. Great venue but the walk from the parking lot to the bandstand area is long. Wear comphy shoes.
