“One of my instant favorite places!”
Reviewed June 29, 2014 via mobile

We arrived at 3:30pm on Saturday for lunch. Everything was excellent: service, bread & butter, New England clam chowder, arugula pear salad, mussels, fish 'n chips, po' boy shrimp sandwich, salmon burger, expresso, coffee, and blueberry bread pudding...I'm going back again to try the rest of the menu!

“Delicious Specials & Wonderful Staff!”
Reviewed June 5, 2014 via mobile

Gerardo's Seafood Cafe may appear quaint and somewhat basic on the inside, but this gem serves up quite possibly the best seafood dishes in Dutchess County! We visited on a Thursday night, and were read a long list of delectable, sumptuous dishes - a blend of classics and unique tastes. We ordered an appetizer, and a (large, well portioned) Gumbo as well as lobster-spinach ravioli - superb!

Our waitress was an absolute pleasure - keep in mind, folks - Gerardo's does not have alcohol/liquor licenses, so be sure to plan ahead and BYOB. Our waitress was SO caring, she even told us the closest store at which to buy beer, saved our table, and waited for us to make the walk to get our IPA's - and even offered to place them in the restaurant's refrigerator for us!!

Will definitely be back to Gerardo's - well done!

“Pleasant meal in this cute tiny cafe”
Reviewed May 29, 2014 via mobile

This place is the very definition of the phrase "hole in the wall". It's tiny (maybe 10 tables?). Brick walls, 18th century doors. No A/C on a very hot day. Bluejeaned young waitresses. As a result of that first glance, we didn't expect much but we were pleasantly surprised. The food is very very good and that young bluejeaned waitstaff acted like seasoned pros that would fit in at any Manhattan 5 star. A very nice respite in this wonderful town and worth a stop.

“We expected better.”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

We got off I-84 east and stopped here for lunch based on the reviews here. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. It is a small cafe, with about 8 tables, and was busy when we were seated. I can say the service was very good, and deserved the 20% tip we left. However, the same cannot be said for the food. A tuna melt with bacon, cheese and tomato was served on mediocre bread. It had little tuna, and what there was was quite soggy. The bacon, which I expected to be crisp, was barely cooked and mostly white fat and inedible. At least it came with good fries. A swordfish sandwich was better but nothing special. Overall, you would do much better at Homespun Foods just a block down the street.
