This is the first time that I stayed in the Chrystie House, it was surprising comfortable and refreshing.
We stayed in the CJ Slocum room, the interior decoration bring a warm southern breeze, it's really wonderful in this cold winter.
There are fire place every where, I just love to sit next to it, drinking , talking or reading, by the way, the owner has a great collection of books, and open to everyone.
The owner was decorating the Xmas tree when we arrived and finished it beautifully the next day, I felt sorry that we have to leave for the work, it would be so nice to just stay there few more days, and I am planning that now

Room Tip: pick the room with fire place

My husband and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Chrystie House Bed & Breakfast! We are looking at possibly relocating to the area and the owner was extremely knowledgeable about the area and answered any and all questions we had with solid information. We were given a wonderful room with skeleton keys for the room key!! Very cool! We were served a fantastic breakfast in the morning which began with fresh fruit, juice and coffee and was followed by baked goods (the best scone I've ever had!) and quiche from the local bakery, Homespun Foods. We had decided to spend a weekend in Beacon and Cold Spring and managed to go on the 2nd weekend of the month - Beacon has a "2nd Saturday" celebration where the stores and art galleries stay open late and there is food and wine. It was delightful! I would highly recommend staying at the Chrystie House!

We stayed one night at the Chrystie House while on a short anniversary getaway from the city. My partner has a distaste for the usual b&b styles, so we'd looked a long time for a place to stay and were so glad we picked it instead of opting to stay in a regular chain hotel.

We had the William Few room, which was beautiful. If you're going when it's colder out, I'd recommend a room with a fireplace. The owner provides this super easy log wrapped in paper you can just light and it burns for hours. There's TV, wifi, and great shampoo/soaps provided that smell amazing. There are books everywhere to read on everything including the history of the house, and every detail of the stay seemed to be well considered.

There was a delicious hot breakfast with coffee, juice, fruit, quiche and baked goods. The house is a short drive from the main street of Beacon, but we didn't spend much time there. Also, the owner recommended us a short walk ten minutes from the house to an isolated spot with a great waterfall. If you're trying to get away from the city and enjoy some nature and a beautifully restored house, you'll love it here.

This is not your common corporate artificial bed and breakfast. Chrystie's house is a truly beautiful building in a truly beautiful setting, with a truly important history (the building belonged to William Few, one of the only founding fathers to stand up against slavery), and the hospitality here is genuine. The host, Yuan, an artist/philosopher/architect and story teller is keenly aware of the importance of the place which he renovated with great love and success. He wants and achieves the best for his guests, with tidy, new and comfortable rooms decorated with great taste, luxurious breakfast and a beautiful garden minutes away from a waterfall, and in a forest with all sorts of wildlife. We saw deer with their does and badgers just as we arrived. We've read that one reviewer found stink bugs, we didn't see any (they're harmless anyway). This is a highly recommended experience, and we'll go again for sure.

Room Tip: We slept in the Sargent room, it's the lowest-priced one, and it was great. The other room have...

My husband, adult daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous stay in two rooms at Chrystie House B&B. Our charming host and extremely talented artist Yuan Lee has meticulously and lovingly restored this Hudson River gem. Step back in time and enjoy the beautifully appointed main and guest rooms. Location is very convenient to Beacon and for touring the Hudson River Valley. The rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable with lush linens and a delicious breakfast is served in the airy dining room. Great coffee!!! We highly recommend Chrystie House B&B and look forward to a future stay!!

We just returned from a weekend stay at the Chrystie House, and couldn't have asked for more elegant accommodations or a more gracious host! Mr. Lee is a gentle, charming soul who will make sure your stay the best it can possibly be. (I called him at 9:30pm en route from the Jack O Lantern Blaze, desperately looking for a place to eat dinner, and he gave a great recommendation without even missing a beat).

The house is stunning; beautiful natural light pours in through every window. The rooms are spotless and carefully appointed with thoughtful, classic furnishings that enhance the experience of staying in such a historic house without being heavy or fussy. Mr. Lee has put his heart and soul into this house, and it shows. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

For breakfast we dined on buttery croissants and pastries, along with fresh fruit and a mouthwatering spinach quiche. Mr. Lee also whipped up the best cup of coffee I've had in months! I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the dining layout - everyone eats in the same room, but each party has their own private table, so you can mingle or not mingle as much as you want.

If you have ever used Tripadvisor, or really if you've ever traveled at all, you know that there's always one person who isn't happy unless they can hyperfocus on something to be unhappy about. The stink bug reviewer is that person, and it's their loss. For the record, I didn't see a single bug, but it wouldn't have mattered if I did.

In short, if you're looking for a getaway with romance, history, comfort, great food and a great host, look no further. You won't be disappointed with the Chrystie House.
