My boyfriend and I were looking for an easy escape from NYC that would not require renting a car. We could not have been happier with our choice to stay at the Mt Beacon Bed and Breakfast. We opted for the master suite, and very much enjoyed the full sized antique bathtub and the fireplace in the room. The house is beautiful, bright, sunny, clean, and filled with antique furniture. The breakfast was a delicious 3 course meal, cooked and served by the friendly owners. I was not expecting to have such an elegant and substantial brunch. It was great!

My boyfriend and I love to walk, so the location was great for us. It is very close to Mt beacon. We hiked up to the top and enjoyed the beautiful view . We also were a short walk from Main street, where we discovered an incredible Retro Arcade Museum. We had never experienced anything like it. Fred, the owner, had an impressive collection of pre-video arcade games. He showed us how each game worked and let us play all the games for an hourly fee. It was incredible!!

We also walked to the Dia, which we really enjoyed. All in all, it was a perfect weekend. I would recommend Mt Beacon Bed and Breakfast as a great getaway for couples that don't mind walking a bit to get around town.

My boyfriend and I were keen to get out of NYC and see some of New York State. The Dia drew us to Beacon and Mt Beacon B&B was a very welcome respite after a crazy couple of weeks in the city. Our hosts Lauren and Barbara were friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. The food was just wonderful and they looked after us so well.
Our room, however, was the highlight. Charming without being kitsch, with an open fireplace and a cosy bed, it was EXTREMELY hard to leave. The house was furnished in the same way - we just loved it.
Beacon is a nice place to visit, its pretty quiet but the Dia was fantastic. We'd recommend staying at Mt Beacon to most, it would even be great to rent out the whole place with a group of friends.

My boyfriend planned a romantic getaway for my birthday. He could not have chosen a better place. We were greeted with warm hospitality, led to our cozy and romantic room with a fireplace and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at 9am for the two nights we were there. The town itself is great for those who like to antiques, art and good food.

What a pleasure to stay at this charming and tastefully appointed, family-run, immaculate and unassuming B & B. Everything about the lovely 1 acre property -- from the uncluttered and elegant but touch-me home decor, to the warm and positive vibe, to the hands-on yet unobtrusive service -- was just right. We elected for the larger and slightly pricier master bedroom with its views of Mt. Beacon (a hike that is not to be missed), a working fireplace, and in-suite bathroom with its vintage, claw foot bathtub/shower. (NOTE: faucets don't turn in the conventional way; test them before shooting the works.) The house has no sign out front (a plus for privacy-lovers like us), and is near major attractions in Beacon and Cold Spring. We stayed the week before Halloween (when the turning leaves were at their brilliant best), and were so taken by the atmosphere and service that we extended our stay and enjoyed a day trip to New Paltz and Lake Minnewaska State Park. We encourage all guests to tip the management, just as you would upon checking out of a conventional hotel. Clarkson Potter Book Publishers take note: THIS is the B & B from which you should accept your next cookbook proposal. Co-owner Barb's inspired and inventive breakfasts deserve to be recognized and reprised.

We recently stayed at the very charming Mt. Beacon Bed and Breakfast. The inn is beautiful, the food delicious. The rooms are immaculate with very comfortable beds and fireplaces. The bathtubs are amazing. It is a short walk to DIA Beacon and the town shops. I would definitely stay at this property again!

Mt. Beacon B&B is simply wonderful. My husband and I stayed at this beautifully appointed and welcoming inn for two nights, and it was a terrific experience. From the roaring fire in the living room to the elegant breakfast and warm hospitality of Lauren and her mother Barb, it was a memorable stay. One example of their cleverness and thoughtfulness: although there are only three guest rooms, there are two copies of the Sunday NYTimes at Sunday breakfast. And both the food and the atmosphere make lingering over the paper a pleasure. Once you arise, Beacon is a great base for exploring the Hudson Valley.

What made this excellent were the details. A lot of thought and good taste have gone into the appointing and operation of this inn. I also found that the price is less than what one can expect these days for comparable lodging. The decor is lovely yet clean rather than fussy. The bathroom was sparkling white and very inviting. Breakfast was well executed. Great experience over all!
