we ate outside on the beach - literally our chairs sinking in the sand. We were there for a wedding rehearsal dinner and there were about 50 of us. Considering our crowd, the catering service tables were good at keeping our food hot and the plates filled with delectable choices. Outstanding food for our venue - best yet for a rehearsal meal and the ambiance couldn't be beat ! Enjoyed a spectacular sunset and cool breezes.

We've been coming here for years because of the outdoor seating with terrific views of Long Island Sound. The food has always been secondary, but is mostly good. Today was lunch at noon. Our server, Matt was pleasant and did not rush us. We split an appetizer of baked clams. They were a cut above average with nice flavor and real pieces of clam. The clam pieces should have been a little bigger. We both opted for salads for our entree. My wife had a watermelon and beet salad with grilled chicken breast as an add-on and she loved it. I had the sirloin steak salad with a flavorful sliced piece of meat with a nice crust along with a trio of potato salad, sliced tomatoes and mozzarella, and mixed field greens. Both salads were nice summery lunch entrees.

Desserts were cheese cake and creme brulee and were standard and OK.

Two down sides: First, the place is getting a little pricey. My steak salad weighed in at $22.

Second is parking. The restaurant is sited at the end of a narrow side road right on the beach. The parking lot is small and, like it or not, you're stuck with valet parking. There's no charge for it, but if a number of people leave at the same time, you'll just have to wait.

We'll be back again and I hope that the pricing doesn't get any worse.

the food is mediocre, I have gone there for years for the view.........however the management is so rude and obnoxious......after last night, they have lost me forever........there are many restaurants on the water with beautiful views and good food and management that has manners and class..........do not even patronize this restaurant

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely, relaxing afternoon with good food, lovely service and a magnificent view of Long Island Sound. The Citrus Salmon Salad was prepared well and presented nicely. I can see that children would not be welcomed unless they were well behaved.

Do not go to this restaurant, especially if you are a family with young children. The food is expensive and mediocre, at best. The service was surly. We were there to celebrate a birthday and Wall's Wharf was the low point of the evening. The piece de resistance was the hostess coming over and, in her nastiest tone possible, accusing our children of attracting the seagulls. This is a restaurant on the beach that touts itself as a family restaurant. Our children were playing on the beach, along with several other children on the beach, while a table full of diners and their food enjoyed their meal on the beach. The hostess decided our children were responsible for the flock of seagulls that gathered. She yelled at our children and then came over and yelled at us. At this point, we spent approximately $130 on appetizers and drinks and we decided to leave rather than spend $200 on the food and drinks we ordered and subject our children and our selves to further hostile treatment and disrespect. Fact of the matter is, the hostess did not see our children do anything. They were playing on the beach. Oddly enough, seagulls congregate on beaches. The restaurant had several tables set up on the beach; if you serve food on the beach it has to be within the realm of possibility that seagulls might be attracted to the food. Yelling at children and berating customers; is this really Wall's Wharf's idea of good customer service. For the high prices, long wait and bad service, take your money and your family elsewhere.
