I haven't have Spanish food since I visited Spain almost 3 years ago. It was in Valencia, the birthplace of paella, that I sampled my first. I thought it was about time to try it locally, so I visited Marbella this past weekend. You are greeted with "hola" by the friendly host. I ordered the vegetarian paella, which was good, and my sweetie ordered the filet of sole topped by plantains, which he loved. We went on a Saturday night and really enjoyed the music provided by a harpist--an unexpected surprise!

I have been going to marbella since1980
as a child it was something special. One thing I can say is consistency. Great service is excellent but within 23 years there needs to change and move forward. Make sure you do. Not go on holidays it I'd absolutely horrible...vold and dry. Overall solid and consistent I think they should have gotten it by now. Ps definitely get the sangria...

This restaurant has been in the same location for years. It has a loyal following of people who enjoy the food of the Iberian Peninsula. The service is impeccable. The service is reflective of a staff that respects the clients and is sophisticated and well trained. The wine list represents some of the best wines in Spain. The sangria is a process. The waiter mixes a bottle of red wine with triple sec and Brandy in the appropriate proportions at the table so you can watch. The appetizers and main courses are authentic and tasty. The price is reflective of a Manhattan restaurant so some people are surprised at what cost to serve good food in a neighborhood joint. But that's just the nature of the restaurant business. If you want fresh produce, good fish and meat, you have to pay theVig of what it costs. All in all it was a delightful dinner at a good location.

Marbella is a Spanish restaurant and that is unusual to begin with. The waiters are older gentlemen in black suits, white shirts, and black bowties. They know how to give professional dining service including preparing dishes tableside such as Caeser salad and Crepes Suzette. The food was outstanding, fresh, tasty, well seasoned and presented. The only minus was that it was very noisy, but some would consider that "lively".

Have not been to this restaurant in many years and was pleasantly surprised by the great service and delicous cuisine. Lovely atmosphere, gracious waiters--the shrimp and sole in champagne sauce was superb. The half pitcher of Sangria (quite good) was pretty pricey at $28.00. The only disappointment was the key lime mousse which was, sadly, moldy. When I returned it to the waiter he was shocked, came out and said he through the whole cake away. He did offer us another piece from a fresh cake but at that point we were not interested. It happens occasionally - but otherwise it was a lovely dinner and we will certainly go back.
