Preferring B&Bs to other accommodations, we were attracted to this B&B by the outstanding Tripadvisor rating. In short, my husband and I were not disappointed and am happy to say that Ecce - Alan and Kurt - deserve every star of their rating. Spending 2 nights during Columbus Day weekend in the gorgeous Woods Room (well appointed with spacious seating area and fresh flowers), we were treated to wonderful hospitality and delicious food and drink. Ecce skimps on nothing - from the luxurious bedding and linens to the Flavia coffee machines in each room and complimentary in-room beverages (water, soda, coffee, hot chocolate). Movies, books are available for those who really just want to unwind without exploring as well as cozy bathrobes when soaking in the tub or just lounging around is the order of the day. Two hiking trails are part of the Ecce property catering to both beginner and intermediate hikers and the hosts have crafted a clever scavenger hunt (with prizes!) for each to make the trails even more exciting. During our hike on the beginner trail, while we missed some of the scavenger hunt items, we were treated to a flock of wild turkey who were sharing the forest - truly breathtaking! The beautiful weather allowed us to enjoy the full effect of the breathtaking view for both evening hors d'oeuvre and cocktails (complimentary) and morning breakfast (cooked to order and delicious!). Aside from the multi-level deck off the house, the property also features an elevated viewing area which my husband and I took the time to enjoy with a bottle of wine and some local apples and cheese, and also an area with chaise lounges for those who might want to bask in the sun or just nap in nature. The hosts are in their element and display their expertise at running a premier B&B at every turn - whether in offering advice for local dining or sight seeing (this area is home to the majestic American Bald Eagle and nesting sights can be found in season) or simply knowing when guests prefer privacy. Looking forward to a time when we can once again visit and enjoy all Ecce has to offer!
