Hospitality perfected! Alan and Kurt are the consummate hosts- beginning with a very jolly happy hour upon arrival- on the patio overlooking the Delaware River, setting the scene for a truly unique experience. A birds-eye-view, literally, this is a very special place. Immaculate accommodations with lovingly stocked creature comforts- snacks and a full fridge!
The property is gorgeous with hiking trails on site, selected sculptures and unobstructed views that allow your inner eagle to soar! With the Kadampa Meditation Center/Temple nearby in Glen Spey- the Roebling Bridge in Minisink Ford, and the obvious tubing, canoeing and rafting on the Delaware- Ecce is, as defined in Italian, an exception!

Ecce is a wonderful, wonderful place, just perfect. Kurt and Alan have done a fabulous job. The setting was so superb for relaxation. The terrace looks over a pristine area of the Delaware River into Pennsylvania. Birds, from bald eagles to hummingbirds, call this home. The breakfasts are nothing short of amazing, cooked especially for you. The rooms are beautifully appointed (over the past few years, I've stayed in several). Everything is incredibly clean and welcoming. The afternoon drinks and appetizers made me feel pampered. I've never visited a bed & breakfast that made me want to return until Ecce. Thanks Kurt and Alan for your hospitality!

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit such a generous and thoughtful write up.
As you know, ECCE is a "labor of love" for Kurt and me, so it is very gratifying to know others appreciate it as much as we do. We very much enjoyed your return visit (as always) and hope to stay in touch with a holiday card this season!

What a fantastic place! Truly the nicest bed & breakfast I've ever experienced. I highly recommend a visit for a relaxing getaway. You'll be pampered with beautiful accommodations, an amazing breakfast, afternoon drinks and appetizers, a hiking trail, breathtaking views (we even saw bald eagles flying over the deck) and many other amenities. Alan and Kurt are warm, friendly and exceptionally hospitable hosts. I can't wait to come back - again and again.
Put this place on your "must see" list.

Room Tip: They're all gorgeous with stunning views!

Ecce is the perfect place to stay, especially on a romantic vacation. Kurt and Alan thought of every detail and every way possible to make the guests' stay a unique and wonderful experience. The B&B sits on a large wooded area of 60 acres, and the hosts designed beautiful hiking trails on their property that I would highly recommend as an experience on its own. Their food is at the level of a 5-star restaurant, and they offer the guests a large selection of teas and coffees, as well as games, CDs, and movie DVDs. And the view! You can see for yourself in the pictures what an experience it is just to sit outside and look at the Delaware River. A week later and we still have stars in our eyes...

After driving on winding roads through the woods we reached Ecce tucked in the woods overlooking the Delaware River. Our host Alan greeted us and gave us a tour of the common rooms and bedrooms, each one beautifully decorated, appointed, and immaculate. The bedrooms are all different, each with a unique appealing feature. I chose "Sunrise II" because it had lots of natural light and an incredible view of the river. The inn had so many comfortable places to relax, enjoy the scenery, bird watch (the inn provides good quality binoculars and attracts a variety of birds), we couldn't decide if we should enjoy our time in the chase lounge chairs in a secluded area of the yard, lie in the hammocks up on a ridge in the woods, or sit on one of the decks.(All with gorgeous views). The inn has 60 acres of woods and maintains 2 beautiful hikes through them as well as very clever scavenger hunts which were great fun. We were so comfortable at Ecce that no one in our party had any desire to go anywhere, and we enjoyed the beautiful, relaxing inn. Our host Alan couldn't have been more charming or accommodating, preparing delicious breakfasts and evening appetizers each night which were all excellent and beautifully presented. We were very glad to hear they have a cookbook coming out in the future. Alan also recommended area restaurants which were all very good. We all agreed it was a spectacular place and hope to return every year.

Ecce B&B sets the bar high for Bed and Breakfasts. I hesitate to use the superlatives that it deserves for fear it would sound contrived. So I will just say that Alan and Kurt have created a unique experience that will make every guest’s stay incredibly memorable. They have given every detail their careful attention from the food they serve, the appointment of the rooms, the outstanding display of artwork, and their beautiful gardens.

Barryville is somewhat off the beaten track but there's plenty there to keep visitors of all ages occupied. The Delaware River offers all kinds of activities on a:"wild and scenic river" monitored by the National Park Service. Nearby Bethel Woods is a trip down memory lane for those who remember Woodstock and the era of the 60's. The Roebling Acquaduct offers an history lesson about the time when Coal was King. But if you have difficulty finding something in the area to spark your interest, Alan and Kurt have a wealth of in-house fun and games that will keep you thoroughly entertained.

Whatever your reasons spending time at Ecce, you will not be disappointed. I predict that when you leave you'll most certainly be thinking of what you'd like to do on you next visit.
