“Farm to Table”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Just north of Ballston Spa a redecorated gluten free restaurant. The hostess was alittle frazzled when we entered put told us she would clean and set a table as soon as she could, the place was not really busy but seemed like they needed more help.We were4adults that had come from the races and were hot and tired looking for a good local Beer and some food having been there the year before. When looking at the menus 2 of the men had a hard time finding something to order not many choices on a Sat night that they would eat.Prices somewhat high for the drinks and entrees. They don't rush you and it look awhile between courses almost to long. All in all a pleasant experience .

“Organically delicious”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

A most friendly welcome by hostess and owner greeted us in this redecorated establishment just north of the quaint village of Ballston Spa. Nature theme - consistent with the fare - with branches to and fro against the walls, provided a certain coziness. An unusual, tasty combination of homemade potato chips and a spicy olive tapenade accompanied our cocktails. Our waiter was pleasant, unhurried, and helpful answering questions or searching for answers. The menu states the farm to table folks that owner purchases goods from, and we appreciated knowing. Prices here are a little high, but organic foods generally are. We both decided on chicken marsala, and the flavors were amazing. Food appears to be prepared to ordered and came to table piping hot. We requested some bread to soak up the sauce to savor every bite. We applaud the owner for affording an excellent opportunity for those of us who try to do the best to maintain a healthy life style.

“Go for the wine”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

A really great wine list with a small mark up. Good selection of Oregon pinot gris, pinot noir and chardonnay. Inexpensive French wines including Loire's. Helen Turley's wine for as little as $28. Nice glasses and wine buckets. Service is amateur was well intentioned. It would be great if some one or anyone knew anything at all about wine and how to serve it

The food is equal to the wine and makes for a great evening. Tuna, duck, lamb and sometimes the fillet mignon are worthy of a great pinot or a Bordeaux Some nice and reasonable Burgundies, red and white to pair up some good food. Kudos on great locally foraged wild mushrooms. Butter and mushrooms make all wine taste better

The problem is getting the service, kitchen and the wine to coordinate even a little bit. Someone should have a clue.

Desserts are worthy and fun, but, alas, no substantial dessert wines. I am sure someone in Sauternes or Barsac would offer up a bottle or even a Chennin Blanc would be nice. And don't start me about no cheese plate

But just go and enjoy the wine and hope a few pieces of the service fall together for you

“Great food, great value”
Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

The food choices and quality are excellent! And then, the value can't be beat. Make sure to take home a few jars of tapenade!

“Awful food”
Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

My wife is from the area and loved this place. The first time I went I was shocked because the food was terrible. Not just bad, terrible. Well, we went there a second time just to placate her. Again ordered something different and terrible again. Her opinion quickly changed. Would not go again and would not recommend.
