We were greeted at the landing strip by Jamie Rose who made us feel welcomed and cherished. Aaron the general manager went out of his way to show us the elephants nursery. The good taste of the camp amenities, the service and the food were all outstanding.
Thank you for making our stay at the beautiful Okavango Delta unforgettable.

Hi Leo,

We are so glad you enjoyed your quick visit to Abu Camp! We were sad to have you for such a short stay, but we hope you come back to Botswana for a true stay at Abu and with the Abu herd. Perhaps next time you stay, Lorato will have a young one to remind you of your first unforgettable visit to Abu!

Cheers,
The Abu team

Abu is magical.
The team understand what they are doing and deliver every day.
The term "glamping" doesn't do justice to the high levels of service and luxury that are delivered by everyone there.
This was our first safari experience and it exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

We chose Abu because of elephants but we got to see so much more. We were really surprised how much there is wildlife at Abu concession. It is great to interact with elephants but wildlife around Abu is super. We saw among others lions, hyenas and lots of birds. For birdlovers this place is great. Our guide Joe was awesome. He is very professional. His knowledge about nature and tracking is excellent. As he says that he just "put pieces together " but he found three male lions for us. Thank for our waiter Meschack (I hope that I wrote this right). You are top. We got really good tailor-made service from him.

Dear Casagatto,

Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories with us, we will be sure to share this with Joe, Meschack and all the wonderful staff in camp.

The arrival of the recent rains has afforded us some beautiful wildlife sightings and we are just glad to have been able to share these with you. And as you mentioned the birds have put on spectacular show at the Abu Lagoon, even the increasingly rare wattled cranes made an appearance.

We will be sure to commend all for helping make this time such a memorable one for you.

Everything from the food, service, staff and the sunrise right onto your bed was such a formidable experience. The "sundowners" are something that will long be remembered. Lots of game.......guide was Taps and he was really knowledgable and friendly.

Room Tip: #4 or #5 are best in our view.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your wonderful feedback, we are thrilled to see how much you enjoyed your stay with us and that Taps took such great care of you, we will be sure to pass on your high praises. The sundowners are a special time for both guests and staff alike and always making sure you have your favourite drink in hand while taking in the amazing sites is just part of the charm.

Thank you again,

We have been on several safaris with Wilderness and were looking forward to our stay at Abu Camp, mainly for their work with elephants. We were not disappointed.

Abu is upscale, with several different areas in which to relax. There is a library, a large pool overlooking the bush (seems the baboons and elephants occasionally visit the pool area, which is quite entertaining), a main lodge with very comfortable chairs, and lovely outdoor dining areas on the decks with teak tables and chairs.

The camp is managed by JamieRoes and Aaron, an extremely professional couple who are very much hands-on and accessible. Kemm does an excellent job of ensuring that your stay is comfortable and that you want for nothing. The food is absolutely the best we have had in Botswana, and the food and wine servers are extremely attentive. Do try the Eggs Benedict -- the chef is to be complimented for his excellent Hollandaise sauce.

Our guide was the most excellent BT -- extraordinarily charming, patient and knowledgable. My wife took every opportunity available to walk with and/or ride the elephants and BT was more than happy to accommodate. Bee, the elephant manager, and his team of mahouts are not only gracious hosts , but do a wonderful job of sharing their elephant knowledge with the guests -- my wife was delighted when the mahout she was riding with replied to a question about elephant teeth with a detailed answer regarding the ages at which the elephants' various sets of teeth appear.

The wild elephant viewing is spectacular, and both the elephant-handling and camp staffs do a wonderful job of describing the conservation efforts in which Abu Camp and its NGO neighbors are engaged.

Our only criticism of this camp was the condition of our mattress -- lumpy and worn. We still slept fairly well, but are hoping that the mattresses will be replaced during the upcoming renovations.

All in all, Abu Camp is a destination and experience that you, like a true ellie, will never forget!

Thank you Ghostrider5408, for your wonderful praises, we are delighted to hear that everything during your stay was able to meet your expectations and your wife so thoroughly enjoyed her time with the elephants and their dedicated Mahouts.

We have identified the mattress in question and it was immediately replaced with a new “un-lumpy” one. We are sorry that your stay was not 100% perfectly comfortable, but thank you so much for sharing your feedback. It has been very useful to us in ensuring future guests have the most comfortable stay, and we hope you return to Abu to test out the new private plunge pools in the rooms!

Thank you again,
Your friends at Abu
