We traveled with andBeyond Superior Explorer Safari 9 days through Chobe, Savuti, Moremi and the Delta. The first 6 days we stayed in temporary camps with ensuite tents. 4 guys built the camp (max 6 guests) with a kitchen and an dining tent. When we arrived they transformed into cooks, butlers waiters and above all hosts. Amazing food and amazing service, greats beds in the middle of the National Parks. Everything with a big smile and a lot of personality. The sounds of birds, frogs and wild animals everywhere around you. It is advertised as a life changing experience, and it is. We did a lot of safaris the last 20 years. But this was 4 steps up. The guide, KD was a naturalist. He learned us to look at nature and discover all the links between everything you saw. He really took the time at every sighting. We saw every animal you ever wanted to see in Africa. Besides a naturalist he was a great driver, a great host end a great guy to be with. He really made our holiday. (as did our 4 friends from new Zealand).
It is not often that you encounter something that is so perfect. The guys from andBeyond do everything right. the first 6 days we drove from camp to camp after that we took a small plain to andBeyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge. You room is a bungalow with an enormous bathroom, an upstairs roof terrace, a plunge pool and 3 private decks. Everything inclusive and in your room you can write down what they stock in your fridge. The same perfection as in the beginning of our trip but now really luxurious. KD of course accompanied us here as well. The service in the dining/lounge area is sheer perfection. One of the waiters is dedicated tot your group for the whole time. SP, our host at Xudum was very attentive, really nice and a lot of fun. The food was, in the middle of nowhere, as good as it can get. The excursions were great. andBeyond has several Explorer safaris. Most of them end in one of there luxury lodges. It is not cheap but it is worth every penny. Thank you guys!

We stayed with our 2 adult children in mid May. The arrival via boat is spectacular, the setting gorgeous and the rooms a perfect combination of luxury and comfort. The meals were particularly delicious and they catered well to our gluten restrictions. We were on the tail end of a mobile camping expedition and had been guided by the expert Captain Easy! He was absolutely fantastic, and many thanks to him for a fabulous vacation! Our game drives were exciting and we found Easy to be knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He was particularly helpful when (during our mobile camping trip) an elephant tried to join us for lunch. Overall we found Xudum to be a fabulous lodge and would highly recommend it.

&Beyond of course is a high end travel organization, however my high expectations were surpassed here in Xudum. The location is fantastic, on the water of the Okavango delta. An air transfer, followed by a boat transfer will get you there. A warm welcome by most of the lunch time staff on the boat landing was a nice touch. The main area which holds the bar, lounge area, restaurant, kitchen, gift shop and restrooms has wifi at reliable but African speed, and offers great views of the delta. Decorations are tasty and add to the African atmosphere.
The staff have the most amazing attitudes: they are always smiling and no request is too much for them. They quickly learn your name for that personal touch, including your drink preferences. They'll make your experience at Xudum even better. Especially SP brightens up the day. The chefs' outfit (look at their backs), as well as the waiters' outfits looked very good.
The chalets are of a remarkable design and have been decorated elegantly. They are very spacious and have a luxurious and high end feel to them. The beds are huge and the linnen is comfy to ensure a good night's sleep. The bathroom offers a bath and shower and outside shower. Towels soft and lush. Rooms are kept clean and in excellent condition. I am sure Mary, our housekeeping lady, attributes to that. The room also has a safe, private plunge pool(!), viewing deck with lounge bed on the roof and work out kit with weights, elastic bands and yoga mat.
The food served is healthy and nutritious and nicely presented. Lunch is served on the table but in buffet style. Dinner is plate service. The chefs make everything themselves and the interactive kitchen allows for good viewing and possible participation.
If they could be anything that could be faulted it would have to be the constant hum of the generator, audible especially from room 1 during the day. It is turned off in the night. Having said that, &Beyond is going green and I've heard they will be changing to solar power in the future, which will render the generator inactive probably.
& Beyond pays a lot of attention to personal service and details. The hot water bottles on the game drive and blankets on the boat are only two examples of all the effort they put in ensuring their customers have a good time.
Well worth 5 stars and well worth the expense.

We arrived at xudum for a 3 night stay after having two nights at nxabega which we could not fault.
Our overall feeling about xudum was a little diassapointed other than our butler Onty who was excellent.
On arrival we were greeted by all the staff individually but the manager did not introduce herself as the manager and neither was Onty identified as our butler which was a very nice feature at Nxabega.
The afternoon game drive starts 1/2 hour later than Nxabega, at 4.30 pm which with sunset at 6 pm makes this drive very short.
Our guide made a point of stating that the morning game drive starts at 6.30 but breakfast was never finished until way after 7 am so we were a bit confused.
Overall we felt our safari time was limited compared to nxabega and after all this is what we came for.
The food whilst good still could not compare with Nxabega.
The accomodation common areas and rooms we loved but overall we felt a little let down by our time at xudum.

Beautiful timber lodge situated in the delta. No access by road so you take a boat there. Luxurious rooms though on the small side. huge bathrooms. Room 6 has internet from the public areas. Great food and hospitality. Daman is a star and see's to everything! He organised a beautiful lantern lit, private dinner for my husband and myself as a surprise birthday dinner. Great food wonderful service. You can hear the hippos call all night and a daybreak view to die for! A real experience. Loved it.

Room Tip: Room 6 has internet access.
